We found Sunday lunch to be very expensive. The food was disappointing as we were expecting a lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings. However, although the meat was cooked well, the vegetables were sparse ( a spoonful of carrots and cabbage)! a cold yorkshire pudding and probably the worst roast potatoes I have ever had, I got the impression... Very good service, staff friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Log fire in the bar, upstairs dinning room if a party was required.

Our Sunday lunch was absolutely first class - very helpful with the menu and making sure our seating arrangements were exactly what we wanted. The food was wonderful - 3 courses of bliss!

We found the three course lunch excellent value with Crispy chilli beef starter followed by Baked cod which was very nicely presented and a generous portion. The chocolate cheesecake desert was a chocoholic's delight. Aground a very enjoyable lunch. The staff were very attentive and the service was well appreciated.

We recently took my mother to the Red Lion for a birthday celebration lunch. Having mentioned, whilst booking, that my mother has visual impairment, the staff had thoughtfully arranged for us to have a table by the window with good light. The menu was varied and imaginative and therefore was easily able to accommodate a multi-generational group. Consequently we were,... More

After visiting for lunch a couple of times in the past & being 'wowed' by the quality of food we decided that we would try a Sunday roast (2A 1C). Unfortunately something we won't be doing again! Food was served very quickly, almost feeling like we were being rushed. Three small roast potatoes that tasted awful & hard, possibly re... More

Decided on lunch at this lovely old pub but wished we hadn't ordered off the two or three course special menu. Description inferred locally caught cod but what came to the table was a dark brown rounded blob with a tiny ramekin of peas and lukewarm chips. A tablespoon of fish within the greasy covering more than likely thrice fried.... More

A picturesque 14th Century pub situated in a small village near the town of Faversham. Surrounded in history the pub dates back to the 1300's and still contains many original features. The pub offers a selection of traditional english food alongside the frequently changing seasonal specials. Facilities include an upstairs restaurant, availiable for dining or large functions, a front patio overlooking the church and village green and a well established pub garden with many historical features and a large play area for children.
