Ok I guess if you go there and order the menu' of the day you will have a cheap and almost decent but if you ask for something different they don't meet any standard! Kids unfrendly. The lady was just there to say no to...everything. Shame!More
It was a Saturday night and while walking around in Scalea literally every other restaurant told us that we should have reserved a place, as there is no way we're eating tonight otherwise. After looking around on tripadvisor, we found this place, that looked a...bit further away from the city centre.
When we arrived, we got seated immediately, the staff was very nice and, after a small wait, we got our food! We got an antipasto, a liter of house wine (Very nice, a bit sparkling white wine) and a main dish each. Overall it came out to 20 euro per person, which is honestly a very good deal, especially considering a generous portion size.More
Food is quite bland and tasteless, nothing special .Good to fill up your stomach with a 2 course meal for 10€ and that's why I think it gets the crowd that it has ...
I would AVOID Sundays ! Went during the week and it...was better. Today (Sunday) , although we reserved , once seated we waited 50 minutes to have the first dish served and more than half to see the second...
The waiters are nice, the owner really unfriendly and has not a great way of running such a busy business. Families arriving later than us were served way before for some strange reason...
Honestly there are many other places with much more tasty food for the same priceMore
We had two delicious dinners at Vigri during our short stay in Scalea. All the food was tasty, so fresh, and hospitality was great! The gnocchi with pistachio cream and prawns, and the costoletta were our favourites. The location is also great as it is...away from the centre making it a relaxing spot for a quiet dinner. This is a highly recommended restaurant!More
Came to this place for lunch , there is a set menu for €10 which changes everyday . The menu consists of a primo & secondo plus water and a 1/4 liter wine . Food is good and price fair , I will most definitely...be coming back :)More
When we told some restaurant people we know in California that we were going to Scalea everyone said we had to go to Vigri. It's a little ways down the lungomare in an unassuming building facing the sea. One afternoon we had some business in...the morning which finished right at lunch time. We aren't usually lunch people, but we were near Vigri so we decided to try a real Italian lunch. The place was filling up but we got a table very quickly. Bread along with a chili old arrived right after we sat down along with the days selection for the prix fixe meal. Both the first courses sounded great, so we each had a different one. My wife's was tube pasta with swordfish and eggplant in a light tomato sauce. Mine was orecchiette pasta with sausage and escarole in its own sauce, very hard to describe but like a light gravy. Both we so good that sharing was essential. Portions were good for us. We thought that we'd have leftovers but kept nibbling away until all was finished. Second course was a nicely cooked pork chop with fried potatoes. Simple and a nice contrast to the first course. Service was leisurely. Noticed like plates seemed to come out in waves, which I attribute to the small kitchen, but things moved along and we had enough time to relax, which is why we're in Calabria. I had the 1/4 lt. of wine and my wife had mineral water. Two lunches for 20 Euros, all in all an excellent meal and worth all the build up it was given. Staff was very friendly and we had a chance to meet the chef/owner Vincenzo, a gracious host. We'll be back.More

It's so unusual to find a place where you can relax yourself in August in Scalea, it's crowded every where, however we were sure to find a nice atmosphere in this restaurant we usually go during the summer. The location is stylish and the atmosphere...always lively, the service fast and nice. The food is always fresh, both fish and meat, I love the dessert most of all because they are based on the Calabria tradition. We spent a lovely night, thanks.More
