It's my first review on TripAdvisor because Lapo has simply the best quality food I've tasted anywhere in the world. Trattoria Lapo well deserves to be among Top global restaurants, it's that good!!! Try all sorts of meat, it's delicious, and don't forget to start with pastas.

Are you looking for a legacy italian trattoria ? That's it !!! Minimal service, paper cloth, lacking in comforts but great kitchen. Here you can test Tuscan traditional recipes. "Pappa col pomodoro" is a must.

Had just arrived into Prato on a Sunday and was starving at lunchtime. Wasn't much opened, but after walking for a while, found Lapo. Think I was the only tourist in the establishment. Diverse group of people from small family's after Sunday mass, to young couples, to group of men having a reunion. The decor was simple but very inviting.... More

We were seated straight away but had to wait about 5 minutes before the table was rearranged. Not given menu. When the waiter came over he named all the dishes they had. My sister speaks Italian so it helped. We still requested the menu after ordering the food at least to see the prices. Food itself was really nice. We... More

This trattoria was recommended to us by our hotel host and when he told us it was good we had to try it. First time we visited was lunch time, we'd been travelling all morning so were looking for something quick and simple to keep us going. Most of the tables were filled with locals on their lunch break which... More

I had fettuccine al ragu (good but nothing exceptional) and a nice dessert. I guess I should have got some local food to taste the real Tuscany food. They did not give me a menu but I had a waiter listing the dishes available. I think a menu should be provided. Anyway, I would go back again. Recommended.

So on our last night in Prato we came across here for a bite to eat, and it was full of Italians so we figured it would be good! That's an understatement! We waited for a table for about ten min, but when we were seated One of the chaps came to explain the menu to us, so we got... More
