This was the worst place we ate at in all of Italy. The awards on the front were a bogus front for cheaply made food with horrible service. We were an afterthought who basically had to beg for a menu, then wait a long time for barely cooked pasta with crappy sauce, and then ask for the bill three times... More

We were in 4 (2 adults, 2 little children). As entered we took a seat at the table indicated us by the place owner. He put on our table a little blackboard with the dishes of the day. Behind us there was a table of locals in high spirtits, clearly friends of the place owner, who sat with them cheering... More

Had dinner with a friend here in May 2016. We arrived quite late so some dishes were finished, but the owner was very polite and friendly, explained what was left. In the end we had a really nice dinner, with fried fish, salad and foccacia. House wine and nice digestives. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we enjoyed the evening... More

This place was so good we wanted to go back immediately. The Testaroli, which I'd never even heard of, was delicious. Also, the Foccacia was the star of the show- pesto and cheese, we are dreaming about it. All in all, reading the other reviews, we are confused as it was excellent. Service was good. They were very accommodating although... More

What a different place and atmosphere away from the restaurants on the sea edge of the town. Baracco is truly a family business with mother doing the cooking. English cooks say life is too short to stuff a courgette flower, well I'm glad that there was enough time for the cook to prepare them for me with porcini mushroom and... More

Starting from the service, the waiter was clearly stoned. Long wait time for meals. The waiter took the orders wrong, so one of us has to wait extra for a simple spaghetti meal while the waiter ate the first dish at the counter. We also saw the waiter eat from another customers meal before serving it them. Also he was... More

We found this small restaurant while walking around town in the evening. It was a refreshing change from the touristy places along the waterfront. The decor had a casual vibe, and the American indie-rock music playing in the background added to the fresh atmosphere. They have a very interesting beer selection as well. It's run by a young couple, who... More

We are in Puerto Venere and there are many on the water restaurants but we went up a little street and found this delightful Osteria and had a wonderful meal. I had the home made pasta with pesto sauce and it was divine. The place was crowded, which is a good sign, when we came in but understood why after... More

My wife used the beautiful village of Portovenere as our base for exploring the world famous Cinque Terre. This was a smart choice as the ferry to the five towns leaves from here, and the village is truly quaint and serene. We heard the Osteria changed hands and we decided to dine on a Saturday evening recently. Many places were... More

Visited this restaurant in mid June soon after the new owners took over. The stuffed anchovies were the best we had anywhere. The fried seafood and vegetables was finely coated and non-greasy. This was the best meal we had in the 11 days of traveling through northwestern Italy.
