Great service - we choose a fix menù and there was non problem to change a plate. Fresh homemade food and creative presentation. Excellent wine choices. Quality/price ratio is honest and worth it! If we come back to Portoferraio - we will dine again there....🔝🔝🔝More

Great food, excellent wine options from Elbe, Italy and Europe. Terrasse highly recommended on pedestrian street close to the port.

We moored in Portoferraio this year specifically to see whether our first impressions of Osteria PepeNero from 2020 were valid. Yes, they were. We had the four course tasting menu (the 60 euro one); carpaccio of amberjack (ricciollo) carpaccio of another fish; sort of swordfish...with a pea sauce (glorious ) and a dessert to die for. Washed down with a local Vermentino, which looked a bit orange but was in fact zesty and dry; delicious. This is really interesting cuisine; you won’t find it elsewhere in Tuscany. As the Michelin Guide would put it “well worth a detour”.More

Perfect food and service. Deserves 5 stars and we will definitely be back :-). The fish was perfectly cooked and the wine we were recommended was good and not to expensive.

We had a brilliant meal here. Social distancing well handled without losing all the atmosphere. Charming and well informed service, and the food was outstanding, accompanied by local wine (selected for us by our waiter) which was excellent. Bill for three of us with two...bottles of wine was just under 200 euros, which for holiday season on Elba was a steal for food of this quality.More

My purpose was to visit the villa Napoleon, the villa dei Mullini. On my up I noticed this restaurant which catched my eyes for its charming location and elegant sober atmosphere. The visit of villa Napoleon was great with interesting furniture, explanations and a catchy...view on the sea! On my way back, at 7.30pm, I decided to stop at at Pepenoro. A place was available and I enjoyed very much my culinary experience. Fresh ingredients from Elba. I chose the 40 euro menu, three courses with amuse bouche and pre-dessert, plus a very nice dessert. Reasonable portions but very good, local food, light and creative. Good wines, good service, excellent location far from tourists, on a very small street of Portoferraio. Good value for money, I shall come back. Ideal for a romantic evening! I was sitting outside on the street as the picture shows it.More

So this is the nr.3 of Portoferraio? The friendly staff and their knowledge is the only good thing that I can mention. The food is overrated and some of the combinations do not mix...very, very, very disappointed! Why can’t you guys cook a pasta Al...Dente? And why on earth would you charge 3,50 for each person just to be seated?? With that kind of prices? We we’re in a hurry, so we only had time for 1 course (2 persons and 2 kids pasta) and we’ve had to pay €95,-?!? Shame on you. Please search for the authentic Italian cuisine and the love and passion for it!More

One of the best restaurants on Elba. The food was exquisite. Chef sent out 4 sample dishes (no charge). Wine recommendations were also excellent. Highly recommended.

Set in the historic backdrop of a medieval fortified port, Osteria Pepenero has been one of the two pioneers of gourmet cuisine in the Isle of Elba, Tamata is no more, but Pepenero is alive and kicking and keeps inspiring the thriving gourmet revolution of...the island's new venues. Antonio, the owner, is born and bread from a family of restaurateurs and it shows. He hosts a refined, local produce-dedicated and brilliantly intuitive cuisine led by world class chef Marco Olmetti (yes, it's that good, trust me). Pair that with a wine-list that can inspire most lovers and the ever inspired curiosity of Antonio in researching little refined spirits (notably grappas, rhums and whiskeys). I will not go into details, because that's for you to find out, but I place Pepenero in my World top 5 restaurants list ("Francescana" didn't make it) If you are looking to put a smile on that face and shed a tear of joy, do not miss the opportunity to dine at this gem. And for God's sake, do not go à la carte! Let Marco guide you with his menu options.More
