It was truffle season and they made they did an outstanding tortoni stuffed with guinea fowl and white truffles. We split that as the Primi Piati (first course). OMG Excellent. For the second course, one of us had the guinea fowl (WOW) and the other...More

we came for the first time in 2013 with Italian friends and we had a good memory of delicious food, so we came back again this summer but it was an unexpected surprise: unwelcome owner and food quality getting worse. We ordered fresh pasta with...More

It was a Monday evening, and we ate here as the restaurant at La Badia was closed, and so you might expect it to be quiet even in August, but really it was almost funereal. The service was good, and efficient, but quiet. The dining...More

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Italy. I've been there many times over the years. Today I found it a sad shell of its former self. The food was fine, albeit pricey, and the octopus was especially good. But the servers...More

Visited 8 persons for light lunch, and can only vouch for the pasta dishes, all lovely and freshly made - consistently subtle and great flavors ( can’t really miss with truffles!) but also the aglio olio with a spring onion creme and small bits of...More

We had read about I Sette Consoli in an article by Francine Prose in the New York Times Magazine several years ago and were thrilled to be able to find it during our visit to Orvieto. The garden setting was beautiful, the table settings were...More

I ate well everywhere in Italy, but not in such a relaxed manner and in such an intimate setting as at my rainy-day lunch at I Sette Consoli. My notes say that I had generous amounts of local red wine to accompany tagliatelle with black...More

This was probably the worst dinner of my holiday. I ordered pasta with truffle which was so bad just tasting of butter and nothing else that I had about 3 spoonfuls and left it. I found it fascinating that the waitress did not ask how...More

If you’re looking for a fine dining experience in Orvieto, I Sette Consoli would be your choice. If you want traditional Italian/regional food, probably not as there are many other less expensive options. This one does have an innovative menu, huge wine list and, if...More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind words. You are totally right when you complain about waiting too long. The restaurant was full and we were very busy that day and in these cases sometimes there are some delays, even if this should not happen....More

Description
The origins of this restaurant are deep in the sacristy of the adjacent church of S. Angelo; the rooms have been excavated out of the rock; in summer we make use of the beautiful back garden. The garden has a view of the Orvieto cathedral.
