It was a quiet cold night in Montepulciano. Our host recommended this restaurant. Not too many diners when we arrived at 730, but near full by our departure 2 hours later. Our server presented our fine local wine with great flourish, and quickly explained the menu. We had many interesting dishes - including excellent soups, pumpkin tagliatelle, pici with boar... More

We've had the ones with peccorino & pepper , totally yummy! However, if you are very hungry, the portions are rather small, you might want to order some appetisers as well.

La Briciola was recommended to us by our hosts in Montepulciano, and it was indeed an excellent choice, so much so that we went twice for dinner in a four day stay. It is tucked away down an alley to the right as you walk up into the old town, not very far inside the historic gate. It is a... More

Nice niche location in Montepulciano, inside and outside tables, those outside being within some sort of passage between houses. We had pecorino cheese with creams from pears and onions, then typical pici alle briciole and pici with meat sauce, together with a local wine of the house since Montepulciano is highly appreciated for wines, all good. Service fas friendly too,... More

We were recommended this restaurant as a "proper Tuscan not tourist restaurant" by our hotelier, and decided to try it as it was a little bit off the main path through the town. My husband and I love Italian food, my father-in-law will eat anything and my mother-in-law won't eat pasta, but will eat gnocchi. The menu was all in... More

This is a lovely, unpretentious restaurant with wonderful people serving a typical menu and the food is excellent.

We visited this restaurant twice whilst in Montepulciano and had really tasty food both times. We ate outside in what feels like a railway tunnel. Despite the fact it is tucked away it does get quite busy by about 8pm, but we managed to arrive at 7pm (the opening time) both nights and so easily got a table. Their pasta... More

We ate here on the last night of a week Italian holiday and unfortunately it wasn't a memorable experience. The restaurant had been described to us as basic 'wholesome' Tuscan food and that's what it was. We both had pasta entrees, tasty and plentiful amount but nothing to make it stand out from many other pasta dishes. My partner had... More

This was one of our best Tuscan meals- recommended by locals. The salad Nobile was delicious, and the pici was amazing! And the tiramisu was decadent!

Two locals recommended La Briciola to us and we were really glad they did. The food and the wine were outstanding! There are lots of touristy places in Montepulciano, but this isn't.
