Although from outside this looks like just another of the many restaurants dotted along the seafront, its shabby - chic interior and excellent cuisine ...

The restaurant was only ok. Something that bothered me with the service was that the plates of some guests were already taken away while others were still eating. Moreover, the pasta was very oversalted to the point where it was no longer enjoyable. The fish...on the other side was flavorless. Pizza and soup were good. Overall I do not understand why this restaurant is mentioned in the Michelin guide as I think it was if at all average and the prices were expensive.More

Went there because mentioned on the Michelin restaurant's guide. Why this place is even mentioned is a mystery to me. Portions are very small and the combinations of ingredients in the dishes are not wel thought of. Add to that a high bill and mosquitos...everywhere (ok not really the restaurant's fault but at least for the price you should offer the option to eat inside with air conditioning) and you won't go there anymore especially when you have so many better and cheaper options available.More

I tried only pizza and wine in this restaurant, but it was amazingly good. Located by the sea. Very particular inside

I absolutely love this place, from the location, atmosphere, service to the excellent food. The moment you enter here you feel it’s going to be a special experience. Exceptional range of fish and shell fish. We had a great mix of fish appetizers called "Antipasto...completo" all original but not extravagant. You have to try them if you come here but to "tease you" here’s some of them : tuna fish cooked in a special way, sliced and served with dried tomatoes, burrata (mozzarella filled with soft and cream) and grilled bread. Tuna tataki served with plain yoghurt, Granny Smith apple and oyster sauce. Bruschetta (grilled bread rubbed with garlic) with mackerel and salad of fresh tomatoes, basil and red Tropea onion. They were all amazing. As we heard they serve good and particular pizza we decided to have one for the second course. Trusting their risky but good matches we took the pizza with the tuna mentioned for the appetizer, tomato, black olives and burrata added after cooking. That was so so good We had local wine a great Verdicchio of Cantina Santa Barbara, I just love to explore excellent local wines and this was really supreme. We didn’t try the dessert but we are really willing to go back soon and try other courses and dishes we didn’t try. The picture was taken with lovely maître Roberta who handles the staff. Chef and owner Ettore Patrinelli was obviously busy in the kitchen as it was a Saturday evening, great sign of being an active part of this success! First class top quality food and wines close to the seaside and beach. Service friendly but still very professional. If you travel the zone of Ancona you can’t miss it and, believe me, Marotta has something special, a place out of time with friendly people that "Burro Alici" makes more specialMore

This was our favourite restaurant in Marotta. We sat inside, the decor is very Cape Cod design and interesting. Tables were nicely set. The staff were polite and professional. My scallops were beautifully presented and my husband had spaghetti with fresh tuna, olives and tomatoes....Both dishes were excellent The wine and draft beer were good. We finished with homemade desserts and again were excellent Don't miss this restaurant.More

The mussels were really tasty but unfortunately they forgot my pasta dish, and the bread, and the "amuses"... The fish was good, no complaints at all, but for 20€ pp plus extras for side dishes just too expensive. The glass of tiramisu was only whipped...cream so below average.More
