A beautiful elegant beach restaurant with fresh seafood and friendly, personable service. However the diamond in this restaurant is Fiorello, an old style gentleman waiter who aside from the perfect, personal dinner table manner (telling stories, chatting, describing dishes the way the classic waiters used to do in the Grand Rooms) is a Master with the Crêpes Suzette. He prepared for us this beautiful desert, at the table, adding his personal toich in the finished plate. Thank you. We will be back.

Thanks for your review
The raw materials are chosen with care and of the highest quality
The products treated with extreme respect by our chef and the entire kitchen brigade.
Our maître Fiorello, thanks to his experience and the passion he puts into his work
always manages to surprise our guests and we are delighted!
We look forward to seeing you soon in our little oasis on the coast or in the center of Massa at the Osteria Tradizione
to let you taste some of the cuisine that our grandmothers used to make for us!

We came to this restaurant for lunch and just loved it. Food is delicious (tagliatelle are outstanding!), elegant vibes and friendly staff, for an inexpensive price. You dine just next to the beach where you can also spend the afternoon and where snacks and great cocktails are served.
Highly recommended!

I was looking for a suggestive place where they could create a secluded table for six people to organize a surprise for the anniversary of my parents' 30th wedding anniversary.
After viewing various locations I came across this beautiful place.
Needless to say, I was never able to see other locations afterwards without making comparisons.
Right from the start they enthusiastically welcomed all my requests without the slightest problem, so I booked the garden located at the entrance of the venue, near the swimming pool, in which there was a fantastic Art Nouveau gazebo, which I imagined already full of lights.
On August 21st, the anniversary day, I arrived at the inn with my sister about an hour before the appointment, as agreed with the staff, to decorate the reserved gazebo, the garden as we liked and bring the cake fake made by my sister to put in the cold room.
For the entrance of our parents, the staff also did us the courtesy of turning off the main light that was shining on the gazebo so as to further increase the romantic atmosphere created by the fairy lights!
The maître Fiorello looked after us excellently throughout the evening, advising us on the best.
We chose to skip the appetizer so we could all enjoy the first course, second course and dessert. All very good and fresh.
We also chose an à la carte wine for the meal and then to accompany the dessert we asked the maître for a recommendation for a Moscato.
We were brought a Moscato chosen by the maître but I didn't appreciate the fact that we weren't told either the cost of the bottle or whether it was a good choice for us before opening the bottle...
The staff was very kind all evening, during dinner various waiters came to compliment the setup we had done and the fantastic surprise organized for our parents.
The total expense in our case was €567, €94.50 each for:
6 first courses, 5 second courses, 6 desserts, 2 bottles of wine and 5 coffees.
We were all very happy with the evening.
The only flaw, I waited a few minutes to get the bill, I paid and I was only given the ATM receipt which obviously only shows the total, therefore not even in that case being able to see the cost of the bottle or in any case of all of them the things entered in the account.
Apart from this it was still an excellent experience, a beautiful evening and above all a more than successful surprise.
We will definitely be back!

We came from the beach. At 4 pm the hot kitchen was closed. The cook came to us and we asked him if he could make us a salad. He asked if we would like to have some anti-pasti with it. We agreed and got 1 big bowl of salad with 1 tomato and a plate with ham, salami and a bit of cheese. I almost fell over while paying. 90,00 euros for 3 drinks, this naughty salad and a cold cuts plate. Absolute rip-off. It's not even season. The gentleman at the cash register could not speak a word of English and understood nothing when I was totally outraged. Never order anything here again. And especially to charge 15 euros coperto is just absolutely cheeky.

Very nice and charming location, directly on the beach, too bad for the too many tables all close together that make the stay and service difficult (unacceptable that the waiters can not reach all the people at the table with dishes)
Great food with generous portions, but service not up to scratch. Waiters presence reduced to a minimum, wine (requested several times) arrived after the first courses, dessert list non-existent.
Bill really exaggerated given the service / price ratio, with sweet prices really beyond logic (12 € for an industrial sorbet)
We will not return

I state that it is the third consecutive year that we come to this restaurant and that last year we gave a review with 5 stars. This year, everything seems to have changed and we had to change our minds. What we regret most was the mockery from the beginning to the end of the evening. We had booked and called asking for the opportunity to dine on the beach, fresh from the pleasant evening last year. We were placed on the hallway at the entrance where all evening we were flanked by people waiting impatiently to sit down (anything but relaxing). When we arrived, specifying that we had also called to ask for the place on the beach, we were told that that night there were too many people and could not guarantee the choice. Okay, we could have figured that out if only it had been specified, clearly and clearly. Ours was not a claim, but if you choose this place and you have an expectation, confirmed during Reservation, at least it would be correct to guarantee it. We express the same dissatisfaction to the girl who takes the order who tells us that she would verify but in the end sends another colleague, not even giving us a Response and saying “to these here take the order you”. Unfortunately we are too polite and preferred to pretend not to hear. Let's go ahead... let's order, only one of them gets the first course. My husband arrives after 15 minutes, even here we fly over... but the wine arrives when we had already finished the first dishes, despite reminders to THREE people, is unheard of. As off the menu c was mussel soup but we choose cacciucco (which we take every year). Considering the waiting times and knowing the cacciucco they make here, we believe it was actually the mussel soup to which they thought to add a scampi and some squid (since as they said at the other tables too “it was not evening”). Their cacciucco had nothing to do with it, but even here we would have preferred clarity and clarity, considering the cost of the dish (45€). On this, unless they have changed their way of doing it, we have no certainty, but too many coincidences. We could go on forever, it was a stressful evening, with people complaining about waiting times, staff puffing and opening their arms forlorn etc etc etc etc. Maybe we were used to the sympathy and relaxation of Fiorello and the staff that was there before, who gave you a special evening, serene and authentic. We can also understand that more intense nights can happen than others, but if you choose a place like this and pay (and not cheaply) to dine there, you expect at least the bare minimum for customer satisfaction. We also regret having caused complaints, we do not usually do so and if we do it is really because it borders on absurdity. Always remember that clarity and education pay off. If this had happened, we would have made up for everything else. We give it two stars just because after all the dishes were still good. That's too bad.

I came back for the second time. I think it will be the last one. Sufficient quality, absurd prices, unacceptable wine list, deafening music instead of being soft, they bring menus and not even time to read them, among other things in the dark lights brought to the table only towards the end of dinner... which come in two to press you and try to push you to take the off the menu without even specifying price. Too pressing. Sufficient first courses even if tagliolini are overcooked, second courses are better but prices are not adequate, 35 euros for cacciucco with a prawn, a scampi, 6 mussels and a few fragments of squid....22 euros for spaghetti, overcooked and tasteless clams, in Liguria in all seaside resorts they cost much less and they are much better. Uncomfortable and different chairs on the same table, 3.50 bottles of water... well... let's only save the well-done fried food

I went to this restaurant with my husband for dinner. I'll start by saying that the menu you will find on their website is not updated and the prices of the dishes are much higher. We had two first courses, a glass of wine and two coffees, spending €50 each. The spaghetti with clams (nothing different from what you can find in another normal restaurant) I bought cost €30, madness for the service and quality which is mediocre. The waiters are young and completely untrained, they don't know the menu, they don't know how the dishes are made. As soon as we sat down at the table (we hadn't even ordered a dish) they offered/sponsored us the dessert made by Fiorello (he does a sort of low-level show cooking). In the end we didn't get dessert and Fiorello came to our table saying "you will never taste a dessert like that again" and then left. Once dinner is over they pass by the tables to ask for a good review. I'm shocked by all of this. Michelin star restaurant prices but everything else is at the level of a festival.

On Sunday my friends and I went to this place for Sunday brunch.
At the entrance a girl welcomed us, who explained the formula: 20 euros for all you can eat and in addition 5 euros for all you can eat drinks, for a total of 25 euros per person.
Terrible service, slow waiters, poor and low quality food, the desserts were those prepared from the morning breakfast and placed there on the brunch table, from 12pm only to 3pm, finally, two first courses arrive, ravioli and gnocchi with scampi, and after an immense queue, the waitress portions out 2 ravioli and 6 gnocchi per person!
Not to mention the drinks, the same stressful queue, you arrive at the bar and the waitress pours you a drop of wine, they practically forced you to die of thirst or to continually queue for drinks! Unfortunately we left really disappointed! We won't be going back again!

I've always thought that if you leave a restaurant and you're not satisfied you simply don't go back...but this time after a dinner at Osteria Sul Mare I think two lines should be written. Last night with 4 other friends we ate there but the choice did not turn out to be very happy, starting with the wait for the food (over 40 minutes) which, given the few tables, seems excessive to me, the starter (which we practically ate in the dark because the lights above the table (timed) did not come on) served with 5 pieces of a supposed 5 cm focaccia, the bread (5 slices) according to the waitress was "in the oven"...(in the oven... ?? ) and it arrived when we had finished, the oil we asked for never arrived, the grilled vegetables (a dozen slices of peppers, aubergines and courgettes) completely cold (perhaps a new recipe...?? ) and last but not least bottom of the bill where I believe that a sea bream (ONE not a school) at almost 100 euros stands out...what can I say...enjoy your meal

Never have I ever…. been to a restaurant that looks so inviting but gave me the worst experience ever. We arrived at 20h, the waiter brought us quickly to our table and then the waiting started. No one asked us if we wanted something to drink. Other Italian people arrived and were immediately treated with drinks, bread and food.

Dishonesty and waiters not up to service.
Table with friends, we order appetizers and various dishes, we choose à la carte wine, from 40 €, but the waitress offers us a wine (not on paper) saying very similar, which has just arrived, as a new cellar. The “surprise” comes at the time of the bill. The bottle proposed as "similar" has a price of 130€. Madness .. and as they say in Brescia KE ENCÜLADA !!! You were embarrassing!!! Never again, with affection!!!

Aperitif for an 18th birthday but with the timing of a dinner. Given that we had asked for a quote which was not respected, the food is acceptable but you can eat better elsewhere, considering the price, and spending less. The welcome buffet was truly poor, but the icing on the cake was the staff, initially welcoming but soon after incompetent towards customers compared to the much-vaunted level.
One table was served 2 trays of gnocchi with scampi (good but nothing exceptional) and in the end we realized that only one tasting tray had been brought to the other tables, in line with the estimate.
But let's move on to the wine: the choice was between house prosecco or Vermentino, when it came to dessert we ask for sweet sparkling wine but the famous wine list doesn't mention it.
Furthermore, the estimate included coffee at the end of the "aperice" dinner, which was not offered to us even though some customers remained. At the time of the bill we discovered that we had to pay for the poor service (as well, I would say) and the management of the cake (which we had brought and which we served because the waitresses had disappeared). If it had been a dinner, the price could have been acceptable given the location and the food, but for an aperitif it seems really excessive to me.

That's what I thought when I left after paying the (exorbitant) bill.
It's a shame because the location is very nice, the wait staff very courteous, the dishes are quality.
It's a shame because the service was particularly slow (perhaps due to the concomitant presence of a wedding, but two and a half hours for two appetizers, a first course and a dessert is a long time).
It's a shame because the quality of the raw materials is indisputable, but the preparations are perhaps a little too affected by the international tourism that is now prevalent in this area (in a dish of excellent raw fish I personally don't like fruit, mayonnaise - which is industrial - edible flowers, sprigs of rosemary, and other frills that make the dish beautiful but ruin the flavor of the fish).
It's a shame because the bill is really disproportionate to the offer (I agree that quality raw materials are expensive, but €28.00 for a - paltry - portion of seafood pasta, almost €200 for four courses, seems excessive to me We are in Marina di Massa, not in Forte dei Marmi or Porto Cervo).
Sin. I will not return.

Salve,

Terrible experience!!! I book for my mother-in-law’s birthday, I ask for availability of 6 seats on the terrace overlooking the sea, they tell me at 1:30 pm, we arrive at the indicated time and after about 15 minutes of waiting they tell me that the place on the terrace was not available and the only place available was inside, for outside you had to wait another hour or more. We accept the solution and order, moreover we order all 6 of the tagliolini to facilitate cooking, after 30 minutes drinks arrive, then after 45 minutes without bread arrive 6 tagliolini with clams that did not know anything about fish (it looked like pasta in oil). I partially consume the course then I stop because it was not eatable .. 40 minutes after finishing the first courses, I go to ask for explanations for the wait, but at that point we decide to interrupt and leave, the waitress brings the two fries ordered saying that by now they were ready, we forced to pay them we decide to take them away.
