For the first time we try Orto di Alfiero, a healthy spin off of the well-known focacceria next door. It is an intelligent format that winks at the new trend of healthy and natural food that is popular today. We bought 2 Pokè but the offer also includes salads, smoothies, juices and many other amenities that will make you feel less guilty when you have your next barbecue. I hope that the reports on education are exaggerations because it would be very serious and the quality of the pizza would go to hell. My contribution refers exclusively to my visits and I tell you that the pizza is good, well leavened and digestible and the prices are transparent and correct. You cannot possibly like another focaccia after trying this. Pizza is also amazing but focaccia is definitely unique. The dough they use has a secret recipe which had been handed down from générerarions. Staff is o soldered rude because 1) they can afford it 2) because they are not really rude but just mega busy and perfectly synchronized for delivering hundreds or maybe thousands of pizzas and focaccias daily. Just imagine the tension and stress you might experience in the kitchen of a two Michelin star restaurant. The texture of their focaccia is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you lived in the area you would feel tempted to eat rher or take out at least once a week. You simply cannot get tired of it!

We went to try both pizzas and focaccia and on the flavor nothing to say, averagely good, but there are many aspects to improve. First, costs too high considering the size of the pizza. I ask for ten pieces of pizza, I don't even have time to pay (1 minute after the order) and the rude woman at the cash register shoots me a 50 euro and it goes away, I reply that I didn't ask for 10 pizzas but 10 pieces of pizza! The "gentleman" with the glasses starts shouting saying that I didn't say pieces, and rudely continues to treat me badly, the older lady grumbles, and the annoyed one at the checkout gives me the bill, 12 euros! I pay, take my 10 pieces of pizza and join my family for dinner (very upset with how I was treated). At the table next to me sits a couple who witnessed the whole scene and tells me that the owners are often very rude, and that they could have said it differently! On the advice of an acquaintance I decided to try the typical scones. To be precise 10 scones + 3 pizzas, for a total of 6.40€. I tried to pay by credit card but was told that payments with POS under 10 euros are not accepted. Since I am cashless and to meet the merchant, I ask to add a few pizzas to reach the “minimum amount”. The bill becomes 10€ round. Let's say that the impact is not the best, totally non-existent service, a sort of pizza fast-food, and we can move on from this... I asked for 2 stuffed pizzas and a baby one (my daughter is 2 and a half years old) but they replied that they would have made it as if it were an adult, then half a pizza was then thrown away (for the series w waste), I asked if they made anything other than pizzas but they told me that they only did that, too bad that when we were while waiting for the pizzas I saw another customer bringing 2 plates of other food to the table (and they weren't pizzas), they had a slicer with raw meat and I tried to ask if they could make me a tray or a plate but they smiled at me and refused ...as if I hadn't asked for a rare cut. GOODBYE PIZZERIA ALFIERO!!! I am still shocked by this behavior and I have to tell you… Last night I went out with my husband and our daughters (1 and 2 years old) When we ordered they already informed us that it takes 60 minutes for the pizzas - that's fine we accepted. After we finished we were still sitting - happy that the little one had fallen asleep - to have a chat. From one moment to the next, Alfiero's son's wife arrives and starts shouting like crazy: Eehhh but here you have to clean under the table, you don't want me to leave all this mess!!! In the first moment I became all red with shame and I apologized saying that you will never leave the mess and rightly before I leave I clean up what my children have dirtied... but she continued... and yes we need respect for what we do and the children must be educated.!!! That's enough - I only saw red! Offending and criticizing the education of people/customers is just not what it is!!! And when I told him that it's really a shame (Yes, I grew up with Alfiero's foccacine and I have wonderful childhood memories - every year coming on holiday to Marina di Massa - Mr. Alfiero treated us well with his focaccine) but now I will never set foot in this place again, he replied arrogantly: I don't need your money, we have been an institution in the marina for 50 years!! Unfortunately now I understand that tourism in Marina di Massa is always decreasing. I'm so sorry - but I also have restaurants in Germany - but we will never treat customers this way. In short, this experience just shows that money makes people forget where they come from! Thanks Alfiero for the good memories - with the new management - my children definitely won't do these!

Excellent Pizza in Marina di Massa

Family evening, really good pizzas, perfectly leavened and well seasoned. We also have a historic pizzeria and we found this dough excellent, the best in Marina. Fragrant and light, not at all tingly. And we have been coming for 40 years but we had never tried Alfiero. From now on we know where to go. Friendly staff, evidently taken in the months of July and August because it is always very full. (And from personal experience, post-covid people have become ruder, less patient and above all more unmotivatedly pretentious). Very honest prices, no cover charge and yet napkins, tables and bathroom facilities provided. Keep it up 👏

Simply scandalous, 2 of us entered at 11.30pm, we asked for 2 pizzas and they looked at us as if we had asked for the Caciucco, at best they said yes, we sat outside at the table without a tablecloth, not even paper, while waiting my friend came back and asked about the bathroom, for heaven's sake not even talking about it, dry answer: we cleaned it, it can't be used... they call us for the pizza, we go back in, take the trays and get ready to go at the table..the owner curtly: but where you go, first you have to pay at which point the temperature became incandescent, we asked him who are you used to working with???????' we finally bring the pizza to the table and no handkerchiefs, we go back in to ask and they give us 2 bar towels like those used for breakfast pastries... we eat these little pizzas quickly, no big deal and we move away from this place of scoundrels, rude and with little desire to work...go to Romagna to learn!!!!!!!!!! once again, a late summer stop to eat perhaps the best pizza and focaccia. in short, to end on a high note before leaving. we took different types, both pizza and focaccia, and I must admit that we also had an exaggerated amount, so much so that I had to ask the lady to give me a couple of boxes to take something away.
