As lovers of Sicily, its islands, its people and its culinary offerings, discovering that Sicilian cuisine exists in the center of Marina di Massa was an opportunity we couldn't miss. In the center of Marina di Massa which at this time of year offers less parking possibilities than the possibilities of making SEI at the lottery. However, after several rounds and turns of the neighborhood (25 minutes), a place to put the car appears in front of us. And from there another 10 minutes on foot await us... So when you book, because you have to book, plan to arrive in the area a good half hour before the time you should show up. The place is in a commercial area of a condominium, it is very small but in the summer it has an outdoor terrace with questionable synthetic grass under your feet. Tables not too far apart but firmly on the ground. We sit and wait for the menu which arrives only upon our request. After a few minutes they bring us some water and then a waitress kneels at our table and explains their type of catering and the off-menu dishes. Meanwhile, the bread is missing from the table and will only arrive, upon our request, with the second courses. We order and two traditional dishes arrive on time, paccheri with swordfish and aubergines, busiate with sardines and wild fennel. Both pastas are, even for two lovers of al dente cooking, behind cooking, you can notice it immediately and even more so when you taste it. But that's okay, we eat them, we finish them and if the swordfish in the paccheri sauce didn't have much flavour, the wild fennel in my busiate didn't really come through. So with the former our mental transfer to Sicily does not happen, or rather, at least with our former. Always at absolutely correct times, the second courses arrive: beccafico sardines and tuna in a pistachio crust, accompanied by an inevitable portion of caponata. Let's start with the latter: our neighbors at the table, mistakenly, say that it is good but they expected it hot or at least lukewarm, but we know very well that caponata should be served cold. What does it look like to us? Absolutely pleasant but among the many caponatas we have eaten in our lives it does not enter the TOP TEN. Separate discussion for beccafico sardines and tuna. APPLAUSE to the chef and the kitchen, two TOP dishes, of infinite goodness. WELL DONE! We end on a sweet note. Cassata, or at least that's how it's presented to us. We get a good cassatina, more or less the same as the one I find in the bar next door. Maybe among the many products that arrive in Marina di Massa from Mazara del Vallo, bringing up a cassata to be served in slices or self-producing some baked cassata wouldn't be bad. Alternatively there is also the usual broken down cannoli which I would like to know why it has to be broken down when no one in Sicily does it. And oh well. A good Cataratto accompanied us throughout our dinner, we skip the coffee, pay just under 100 euros and immerse ourselves in the local "nightlife". Sicily came close to us, however overall a place worth a visit and perhaps, in the future, given that things seem to be going well, a better location.

Exquisite lunch, abundant dishes in Sicilian style, new flavors with new and very welcome combinations in the dishes, the girls on the staff were very kind and professional, I appreciated everything from the appetizers to the dessert and the Sicilian bitterness at the end; the tuna tartare with currants and alchegengi to be enjoyed at the end of the dish to cleanse the palate, it was a very tasty experience. The two of us consumed 2 appetizers, 1 first course, 2 second courses, 1 side dish, 1 dessert, water and 2 glasses of excellent wine, 2 coffees, spending €122 and change. The bill is not cheap but I would say that for the goodness, quantity and quality of what we consumed it was worth it. I will certainly repeat the experience, the only advice I can give to improve the service is to replace the unsanitary multi-purpose placemats (even if promptly cleaned after each use) with healthier disposable tablecloths and to avoid a €122 bill of make people pay cents... well done!

If you want to eat fresh fish cooked really well, this is the perfect place. It's a shame about the location, it certainly deserves a position and a room at the level of the kitchen, but let's be happy with the current one, given that it's easy to find parking in the church square. It was our first time, and it certainly won't be the last, non-trivial cuisine, indeed, menu as we like it, 3/4 starters, 4/5 first courses and as many second courses and moreover we were told that the raw it is almost always available. We had lunch outside in a well-heated gazebo with 7/8 tables, inside I think 4 or 5, no more. The service was perfect, 2 young, very cute and friendly girls, Carlotta and Rebecca, professional but always available and smiling, ask them for advice if you have doubts about which dish to choose. We took a hot seafood appetizer for two (that's enough as an appetizer), 1 first busiata with pistachios and Mazzara prawns (see photo), 1 second course tuna in crust and fabulous chopped pistachios, a plate of very tasty Sicilian-style fried panelle , 1 delicious caponata, 1 btl of very pleasant Sicilian white wine, 2 Sicilian cannoli in the photo, 2 coffees and 1 Sicilian amaro x €100. Honest price for the quality of the raw material. ps: the only discordant note at least for us: We need fresh bread even if it's Sunday!!!

The menu is very rich, the wine list more than satisfactory and also the availability of wines by the glass is good. A place with these prices would, however, deserve a more appropriate and less modest location. Apart from that, the appetizers are half a disappointment: the caponatina (it would be a side dish but we order it among the appetizers) is cold in the fridge, the Sicilian mixed fried with microscopic arancini is heated in the microwave, the frisella is not bad. The first courses, tagliolini with red shrimp and guitar with sea urchins, are delicious: there is not much pasta but you can collect on both the abundant topping with bread and it is a goodness. We close with the typical Sicilian cannoli of excellent workmanship, but also this served a little too cold. Overall an enjoyable dinner, but considering that for two starters, two first courses, a side dish, two desserts, two glasses of wine and a mineral are well over 50 euros per person, you would expect a more careful care of the dishes. Mention should be made of the offer of the two zibibbi that accompany the desserts.

We arrived here thanks to the positive reviews found on the web. The place was full and everything was reserved but despite this the waitress managed to find a solution for us to have dinner. We ate: -a portion of Sicilian fried foods served with a black pepper mayonnaise. The fried foods were very small and apart from the rice we didn't know what the rest were. The sauce is good. -spaghetti with seafood, not bad but the fish wasn't (or didn't seem) fresh. -paccheri with swordfish, aubergines and pistachio, of which I attach photos. The small portion, 6/7 paccheri in cash, the non-existent taste. In creating a majestic dish, all the flavor was lost. There was no trace of swordfish, there were two aubergines and they tasted like nothing. Pistachio good but too much. I believe the fish was minced with the aubergine to make the sauce. A bad dish unfortunately. I dined anxiously because there were only two waitresses in the room who were going from one thing to another, running here and there, making themselves available in case of questions for goodness sake, but if a diner sees a waiter in a hurry, the desire also disappears. to ask questions. Maybe for some the staff's race is indifferent but for me it created discomfort. Price too high for the service and the quantity/quality of the food. Unfortunately, apart from the rice and the bread basket, I have tasted little of Sicilian... and in a hurry.

In Marina di Massa, in a quiet street on a small terrace, I enjoyed the best fettuccine with sea urchin cream of my life. Unmissable! First an appetizer with four fish tartares... excellent! My wife chose a warm seafood salad as a starter and spaghetti with seafood... both greatly appreciated. Cellar not very large but enough to satisfy all tastes. We drank a good Sicilian Catarratto. Fair value for money. I recommend, absolutely. Well done Mariano.

The restaurant is small but very nice. The dishes are very good, very elegant plating and with particular flavours, a really good chef. Friendly and helpful service. Four of us had three first courses, 1 appetizer, 1 raw dish, a fried dish and two desserts and we spent €149, well deserved for the quality of the dishes. If you pass by, I recommend the decomposed Sicilian canolo.

Da Mariano is an explosion of Sicily on the palate! We went to dinner with a couple of friends and as soon as we arrived there we were immediately welcomed by two girls with splendid smiles! They make us sit in the green carpeted outdoor area which hides us a bit from the shouting of the kids at the club next door who are already drunk at 9pm. But okay, let's open the menus and after having received enough information on what busiata and beccafico sardines were, we begin this journey which turns out to be an explosion of flavors one after the other. We start with a spectacular mixture of raw fish (I recommend Tuna and GamberoRROSSO di Mazzara tartare) and gradually we try to take all different dishes to be able to taste as many things as possible. We found ourselves in Sicily in Marina di Massa. We've been there for a month and we can't wait to return. We didn't find the bill excessively high for the quality of the products, especially knowing that the fish comes directly from Mazzara, plus the €22 plate of pasta with sea urchins was truly the bomb😋 We are waiting for next summer to return…

Small quiet and well cared for, friendly staff prepared and very passionate. Excellent food. Large portions, we ordered 2 appetizers that could easily be 2 seconds for abundance, a first a dessert and 2 glasses of wine for a total of 77 euros, well spent. We'll be back soon. Well done, all my compliments.

I found a place at the last minute without knowing the place but trusting the very positive reviews. Great luck because the evening was perfect. The restaurant brings typical Sicilian products to the table, and the girls, very kind, are very good at displaying the chef's dishes, dishes that have particular combinations but are truly very tasty. Finally, the desserts, almost all typical Sicilian, gave a fitting conclusion to the dinner. An experience to be repeated to try other dishes that have piqued my curiosity and that I am eager to try.

Being able to find authentic Sicilian flavors in Versilia is priceless! The owner is from Mazara del Vallo and works the raw material with great passion and dedication. The very fresh fish dishes, as well as being extraordinary, are presented on the table with elegance and modernity. Experience definitely repeat. See you soon!

On the advice of friends, we decide to try this little restaurant to the detriment of the "great certainties" on the Marina seafront. Never was a more appropriate choice! Table service by young and well-prepared guys, who paid special attention to our child. Fresh appetizers, exquisite first courses (the cuttlefish ink tagliolini with prawn tartare is something SPACE!), fresh and truly appetizing first courses. Truly spectacular desserts (cannoli and cassata). The wine list is excellent We will definitely be back!

Calibrated appetizer where the arancini were the size of olives. Fish first courses with a flavor without infamy or praise but with a small amount of seasoning. The seafood pasta contained a mussel, a clam and half a shrimp. The pasta alla norma was good both in flavor and in sufficient quantity also as a condiment. Sardines cooked well and well plated, measured portion. Caponata tasted good but then the dish was finished. Poor quality bread, decent still wine with the bubbles gone. Disappointing deconstructed cannoli. Small place where a very noisy company did not allow a normal conversation. The price would have been adequate if quality, quantity, location and service had been of high quality.

Having been looking for something new in the Marina di Massa area for some time, I discovered the restaurant on the recommendation of friends the night before. Small and cozy place (reservation required). Excellent service, with attentive and motivated staff in displaying the gastronomic offer, a detail truly appreciated. The small restaurant is characterized by Sicilian specialties, the result of the direct experience of the restaurateur, a native of Mazara. Great care in the preparation, plating and in my opinion excellent balance in the portions, as well as a great quality of the raw materials and the fish, objectively at another level compared to the competition in the area. Excellent suggestion also regarding wine. Absolutely positive general experience, I found the same flavors of true Sicilian cuisine. We will definitely return because we mainly dedicated ourselves to first courses and starters, but the menu deserves to be explored in its entirety.
