Never disappoints- exceptional food & service

As a family we return to this restaurant often when visiting this area of Italy. It has yet to disappoint. The quality of the food is excellent, fresh & traditionally cooked. Desserts to die for - I had the fresh fruit cheesecake & my daughter the white chocolate mouse with passion fruit coulis. The menu is well balanced. Children are particularly welcome. The service is excellent, attentive but not intrusive. If you are anywhere withing the vicinity of this restaurant it is well worth a detour.

We have been twice in the last six months. The first time the risotto was fantastic !

The second time was just after Christmas so we were the only people in the restaurant! The previous time we had eaten a risotto with raw scampi, which was fantastic. Sadly this time it wasn't as special. The fish is very fresh and well presented.

in marina di massa you find this restaurant with the ambience that makes you feel home. The owner has a strong personality and he can help you with your choices. The food has a good quality and the place is clean. The wine list is very good. Price is a little above the average for the area.

Well the owner or chef de service, friendly but on his own kind of art, very arogant. You could be more down to earth, the restaurant is nice but i have ate in many better places for way less money, sometimes aswell more but was always fantastic. Not so here, food was average nothing special at all, beside of the price. No explenation of the food what was served, was freezing cold inside because door was open and the waiters was very stressed. Most probably of the arogant owner. In the end, was an experience but never again. If you like this kind of establishment then go for it, very expensive but no good food all.

A hidden gem!

We always visit this restaurant whenever we are within travelling distance- this year we were staying near Lucca. It is amazing, very Italian and well worth the upmarket prices. Everything is fresh and there's a range of different ways to try the freshly prepared food. We were invited to try the fish tasting menu.... a gourmet experience. The presentation and service were excellent. On this visit I enjoyed being able to view the kitchen at work through glass panels onto the restaurant floor - marvelling at the fantastic dishes appearing seamlessly from the pots and pans. There's plenty of parking and it is easily accessible. We had our six month old grandson in tow - his first taste of squid- he couldn't get enough! I have to say the seafood medley was superb! This is an exquisitely run family restaurant - very welcoming to all nationalities. I have no hesitation in highly recommending a visit if in the vicinity. We are looking forward to the next time....can'r come soon enough!

Place looks very posh and the parking is full of expensive cars on the weekends, but it surely deserves an attention it gets. Food is excellent, we tried seafood tasting menu - simply amazing. Fish and seafood was perfect, service and serving was great. Owner of the place was very welcoming and nice, coming by and chatting. Have to be booked in advance. The must have trying: desert with hot Fragolas ( strawberries ) and ice cream.

Great food but still very expensive

The food was great, no doubt about it but the owner is invasive ( jokes, too present). Do not accept any suggestions before having a clear quote and the number of plates ordered. We asked for four starters to share with the kids and we ended with 8 on the check. For 2 adults and 2 kids we ended at euro 330 with a bottle at approx. euro 40. We felt like the tourist cash cow. The wine list is phenomenal and the wine prices are reasonable. The service is not to the level of the kitchen. The terrace is very cosy and the kids were welcome.

Domenico and his staff spoils you rotten with the most delicious seafood, marvellous wines and superb service. Situated in the north end of the sea promenade of Marina di Massa be certain to book in advance as this place is popular, and that for the very obvious reasons mentioned above.

Best Pasta!

We dined in this restaurant after asking our hotel for recommendations in the Massa area, we wish we had of asked earlier as we would have visited many more times as it was delicious food and such a hidden gem. We each had a pasta dish for starters and I must say the pasta was divine some of the best I have ever eaten as it was freshly prepared and tasted perfect! The food was of a very high quality and fresh the desserts were amazing soooo yummy. The service we received was of top class, we just wish we could return sooner. The prices are slightly higher than other restaurants around Massa but for a dining experience and quality food I think it is well worth the price we paid. Highly recommend!
