Family friendly restaurant in the centre of Lerici.
Very quick service, sizeable portions, very pleased with the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Delicious ravioli al gambero and excellent fritto misto.

During my visit to **Ristorante Il Frantoio** in Lerici, I had an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with rustic décor that perfectly complements its coastal setting. I started with their **stuffed mussels**, which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. For my main course, I opted for the **seafood pasta**, and it did not disappoint. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. The service was attentive and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in Lerici!

In March, for lunch, we celebrated a birthday with the family at the “Frantoio”.
Welcome with Astoria bubbles, which we kept throughout the meal: I find it perfect, it stands up to comparison with more famous labels.
Here is the menu, which we had partially agreed upon:
Mixed homemade appetizers, always a guarantee: steamed local cuttlefish on chickpea cream, pan-fried tuna fillets with caramelized Tropea onions, marinated swordfish with chopped spicy vegetables, steamed shrimp with raw Tropea onion, potato cream and mayonnaise, fried sea prawns, fried stuffed anchovies. All delicious, as always.
Two tastings of first courses: Paccheri alla “Trabaccolara” (it is a typical recipe of the Viareggina tradition, which includes fillets of white fish of mixed quality, sautéed with garlic, cherry tomatoes, a little chilli pepper and blended with white wine), risotto with seafood, both super. For the more voracious, two portions of fresh pasta spaghetti alla guitar, with turnip tops, peeled prawns and a sprinkling of crunchy breadcrumbs: amazing. For second courses, Catalan of scampi, lobster and prawns with a mixed salad of crudités seasoned with drops of “Laudemio” oil from Gonnelli, Frantoio di Santa Téa and two fabulous turbot cooked in the oven with new potatoes. Octopus au gratin with potato cream, crispy pan-fried vegetables and rapini. Unique flavours, the problem is choosing, I personally recommend adjusting the quantities and tasting everything!
At the end of the meal, for dessert, dark chocolate pudding and their classic “Patatrac” pudding: fabulous. All the other desserts are also made by them, the exceptional chocolate pudding.
Price quality, without comparison.
P.S.
When I booked I asked if they could also prepare a couple of "Tocchetti" of cod Carrarina style, it was a pleasant surprise to find it on the table in the crock. Sometimes it's on the menu, ask for it, if it's there, try it, it's truly incredible.

I was in Lerici for the first Sunday of sun and sea with my family
As always when I go to a seaside resort I look at the various restaurant reviews to choose the best in terms of quality and price
We therefore went to the oil mill for lunch
Being a Sunday with children's communions (without us knowing)
They placed us outside in a "kind" of courtyard with 4 tables just to give us the opportunity to have lunch
The fish was fresh and the spaghetti with clams good
The only flaw was the starter, I found it poor and having 8 small samples they didn't all arrive at the same time and 20 euros was a little exaggerated
For two, a starter and two first courses 66 euros
No dessert, no seconds
I was perhaps expecting something more given the many reviews made by previous visitors!!!!

For Passaparola we wanted to try this restaurant, below expectations, 1* characteristic room for the oil mill as a scenography however the environment is very chaotic and it remains difficult to communicate due to the dense coordination of the diners' tables to be hosted, on the off-menu they make the crafty without attaching the proposals to the attached daily menu and they served us fried anchovies opened without any breading logic = using coarse breadcrumbs which are used as a gratin/seasoning for first courses ⚠️
Moving on to the second, I don't think we need to ask for oil or condiments for seared tuna 🫶 Long live the Frantoio 👋🏻 but the customer needs more attention, and if I cancel for dinner the following evening you can't tell me on the phone ☎️ What is the problem ⚠️
I summarized it for you 🙋♂️

What can I say: 9 times out of 10 when we come to Lerici we have dinner here. Fried anchovies as appetizers, troffie with pesto, potatoes and green beans for me (sublime!), paccherata for my husband, then two sea bream with porcini mushrooms, delicious.
A bottle of Fosso di Corsano vermentino, water and two coffees, all for just over 120 euros. Excellent value for money. We will be back.

We had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent, as was the local Refoulà wine and the prices were very reasonable. I particularly recommend the 8-piece fish antipasto which is tasty, varied and copious. The locale is quite simple, which is rather a nice change. But most of all, the staff are all wonderful and really seem to enjoy their work, which gives a really special vibe to the place. We were surrounded by foreigners so it must be well known, and I can only add our endorsement. Definitely worth a visit.

In May, during the visit of French relatives, we returned to the “Frantoio” for dinner. Cheers with Prosecco DOC from the Giavi winery, classic method, pleasant novelty, very good. Followed by a bottle of Vermentino Colli di Luni 2023, Podere Lavandaro: dry, fruity, pleasant.
Here is the menu, which we had partially established
Mixed house starters, sometimes varying according to the catch, but always incredible: steamed local squid on cannellini puree, pan-seared tuna with caramelized Tropea onions, salmon marinated in citrus fruits, prawns with potato cream and mayonnaise, fried sea bass, fried stuffed anchovies, smoked swordfish with chopped crunchy vegetables, all delicious.
Three tastings of first courses: Paccheri with fresh tuna, Taggiasca olives, cherry tomatoes, flavored with thyme. Fresh tagliolini alla guitar with turnip greens, scampi, pink prawns (locally caught shellfish) and pan-fried yellow cherry tomatoes, with a sprinkling of crunchy flavored breadcrumbs. Trofie with pesto with green beans and potatoes: three super first courses. As second courses, a Catalan dish of mixed shellfish, scampi, lobster, real red prawns, with raw vegetables seasoned with “Laudemio” oil, Octopus in hell with rustic bread croutons, Carrara-style cod with its spicy sauce and sea bass with salt, for two people, we had already requested it because it takes over 20 minutes to cook it. One second better than the other, personally I found the octopus in hell to be the end of the world: it is a specialty of Gian, upon request, which he creates when he finds local octopus. The cod is also amazing, we also requested this because it is not on the menu, it has a slightly elaborate preparation and must be served at room temperature. Usually when there are several people, we diversify the second courses and taste everyone!
At the end of the meal, for dessert, their classic "Patatrac" pudding and a couple of puff pastries with custard, hot dark chocolate and the new entry, the pineapple tiramisu: all fabulous, their production, the very delicate, fresh, perfect tiramisu for the summer, you can brush it in an instant!
At the end of dinner, my French guests, won over by the flavors and proposals, confirmed that they had perceived top-of-the-range cuisine made with the freshest raw materials.
Price quality, always without comparison.

The restaurant has an internal room and some tables outside on the street (which I recommend). Good food and generous portions, I recommend the appetizer with 8 small seafood samples (which are not small so share it). Very kind, price: 1 shared starter, two first courses, two waters and a bottle of wine €85

In early July, incursion to the mill to taste the top of the local catch, paired with black truffles, summer scorzone, a fairy tale.
Usual aperitif with Prosecco DOC winery Giavi, then at full meal a young vermentino from the Colli di Luni, whose name of the producer escapes me.
Here is the menu, mixed appetizers of the house, the usual classics, with four amazing novelties: crispy fried cuttlefish with truffle on wild fennel cream, smoked swordfish with vegetables, fresh swordfish in “Carrozza” with tomato and buffalo mozzarella, shrimp, cuttlefish and steamed shrimp.
A surprise first course: mini linguine garlic and oil with fresh local shrimp, a delicate dish, very simple, delicious.
As main courses, an espresso pan with octopus in hell, cooked with red/yellow tomatoes and homemade croutons: amazing.
Ligurian swordfish with cherry tomatoes, Taggiasca olives and capers.
Warm sea, with scampi, shrimp, salad and vegetables.
Sea bream fillet sautéed, with a sprinkling of Scorzone in very thin strips: very delicate, the truffle enhances the goodness of the fish, without covering its flavor.
All cooked espresso, light, feel the quality raw material, on raw Laudemio EVO oils!
We reluctantly skipped the dessert because we were too full and satisfied, but we “cleaned” our mouths with a homemade lemon sorbet with a tear of Vodka: if you have a corner still free, I recommend you to taste the desserts, all of their production, one better than the other, personally I find the Patatrac” simply fabulous: it is a crème caramel revisited with Savoyard soaked in alchermes, laid on slices of crispy apple.
Quality / Price, without comparison, in the room courtesy and professionalism

At the beginning of September, we had dinner at the oil mill for an anniversary.
Toast with Astoria bubbles, Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOCG, perfect, leaves no regrets compared to other more "noble" labels.
Let's get to the evening's menu.
Two mixed house starters, always a guarantee: “Panzanella di Mare” with shelled prawns, steamed local cuttlefish on pumpkin cream, tuna morsels with caramelized Tropea onions, “Lupini” soup with croutons on the side, potato cream mayonnaise and prawns, juvenile and cod fritters: all delicious, the cuttlefish crunchy and delicate.
As first courses, three tastings of a new entry: cuttlefish ink tagliatelle with delicate seafood ragù, a tasting of seafood risotto: the risotto as always delicious, the tagliatelle decidedly yummy!.
As second courses, three amazing surprises: steamed lobster with mixed salad of crudités, seafood foil with sea bream fillet, cuttlefish, clams, tomatoes, julienne of courgettes, grilled octopus skewer, with a very tasty spicy sauce: stratospheric flavours. The problem is choosing, I recommend diversifying and tasting them all!
At the end of the meal, micro tastings of Patatrac and fruit tart, special desserts of their own production.
Price quality, without comparison.

If you like Italian food, fish and shellfish you will not be disappointed. We went there one evening and were so pleased that we came back again. We tried both squid, fish and shellfish - every freshly made and very nice. A family restaurant with friendly and caring service. Often fully booked - important to reserve your table in advance.

In early August we returned to Lerici to greet some unexpected guests, who wanted to eat good fish, of course we went to the Frantoio!
Cin cin with Astoria bubbles, then drunk with the whole meal: it is a soft prosecco, just that everyone usually likes, the only problem is that you would continue to drink it.
This time only one of us ordered the appetizers, the others wanted to try three fresh pasta dishes on the menu: fresh tagliolini with cuttlefish ink in two versions, in white with shelled shrimp, zucchini and octopus sauce with cherry tomatoes in bellavista and tagliolini alla chitarra, white, with shelled local shrimp, mushrooms and courgettes. Three amazing proposals.
For second courses, a fritter of squid and shrimp, caught locally, crisp and soft at the same time, dry, delicious and a local Octopus in two versions, sautéed with potato cream, diced crispy vegetables and Hell with cherry tomatoes. One of us could not resist the Catalana of steamed shellfish, on a bed of raw vegetables, seasoned with Laudemio 2023 Oil: it is their classic, those who have never tried it!
Remember to ask if there are extra dishes of the day off the menu: we found stuffed muscles, (mussels for foreigners) and stuffed local anchovies, traditional La Spezia dishes, two samples, a fairy tale!
All dishes are expressed, cooked with the right amounts of oil, never heavy.
This time we skipped the desserts, all of them of their own production, and switched to lemon sorbet and lemon grub with vodka: just to digest!
Quality/Price, as usual without comparison.
p.s.
I could not attach 4 other photos of first and second, for a file size problem, shame were shows for the eyes as well as the palate!

In the center of Lerici it is a historic place and their experience produces delicious dishes at honest prices.
The portions are generous and we left satisfied after the eight starters (4 cold and 4 hot), the spaghetti alla guitar with turnip greens and prawns and the gnocchi with shelled seafood.
All very good accompanied by a glass of Vermentino.
Trained staff kindly described the menu and off-menu of the day to us. Payment with pos.
