The restaurant is beautiful and only a few minutes away from the centre by bike. It is always fully booked so reserve in advance. I would say that it is worth the money and time. The tomato pasta with almond milk was great, the raw seafood platter was not the best because there were some shrimp that smelled like they were already rotten. The service was good even though we had a hard time getting the bill. The bill also included 24 euros for the napkins, and table called copperto which was a bit surprising. I would recommend it for a family dinner or friends. Also the orange juice was overpriced, 15 euros for one small glass.

Even better than last year

This was our second time at Bistrot and even more pleasant than last year. I had seafood Catalana, which was of exceptional quality, my 3.5 year old daughter had agnolotti with sheep’s ricotta and she loved it and my husband and his mother shared the beef on the bone which was excellent. Service, very attentive and playful. Overall a great experience, would definitely go here again on our return. Can only recommend.

It’s hard to get a table at the location on the weekend but we managed to get one inside. From my point of view anyway better than outside, because the interieur of the restaurant is nice. The service personal was taking very good care of us and was helpful in giving us explanation about the different dishes. The food itself (seafood) was very fresh and extremely well prepared and tasteful. The olive oil which was placed at the table was one of the best we have ever tasted in Tuscany fruity and mild.

Last year rumours abounded that the chef and much of the crew had left the Bistrot and opened a new restaurant at the Villa Grey hotel. Nevertheless we gave it a try and were bitterly disappointed. Nothing was right. However, several of our friends who visit Forte de Marmi kept telling us that things have improved to previous standards. Well, they haven't. There was not a single thing I can point to which went well except for the greeting we received on arrival from the reception staff who recognised us as long standing customers. Service was mediocre at best and at times rude. Food was awful, devoid of taste and not served hot enough. Prices were absurd with much better food and service available at many other restaurants in FdM. I can only surmise that the Micehllin star has gone to their head but they won't be seeing me again

Better than ever

We visit Bistrot every time we are in Forte and our dinner was better than ever . The pasta , fish and bisteca fiorentina were all excellent and the sommelier chose an outstanding Barolo that was reasonably priced . Pleased to see that with high spending overseas customers this year they have focused on making the food and service better than ever . You want to be sitting on the terrace if possible - not inside and not outside at the front ( too hot and too noisy ).

We were here after the end of the high season during the week. It’s a little easier to get a table than on the weekend. We each got a very nice table indoors on two evenings. From my point of view anyway better than outside, because the interieur of the restaurant is nice. We returned to this restaurant and were very disappointed... I booked several weeks ago asking for a table specifically outdoors given the occasion we should have celebrated, instead they made us sit indoors. The service leaves much to be desired, several times the waiter poured water on the table (I can understand in a trattoria but not in a restaurant that boasts of having a star), the same for the bread which was literally thrown on the table. As an appetizer I ordered their calamari and calamari, which arrived chewy and with a crumble of bread that instead of simply being toasted was totally burned. The miller sole was little seasoned, its sauce was not really present. We then continued with the main courses, I ordered turbot with vernaccia. I asked several times for clarification on the preparation of the fish, and I explained several times that I wanted a soft and tender fish, but nevertheless the fish arrived extremely dry and stubby. The lobster tail was overcooked so it was very hard to chew. Excellent wine list. Observation: the table next to us received the opposite treatment, they were almost revered, embarrassing considering that we are customers as much as they are. I'm not sure we'll be back

Serra didn't get off to a great start due to an alleged mix-up with the booking. It may also be that the number was not well specified but it is absolutely not justifiable that they tell me to wait half an hour (the reservation was for 8.30pm) and then they give us the table at 10pm!!!!! Forte dei Marmi is full of restaurants and we would have had no difficulty finding them…. this is not starry professionalism!!!!! I give the three stars only out of respect for the discreet chef otherwise I would have given a zero!!!!

Pretty location, very slow service, Not coming back

Nice location, had to ask many times for the same things. Extremely slow service, was waiting 1 hour for food and fish was undercooked, had to send back many times as the waiters were not listening to my request. Some dishes; for example cotoletta were nice. Probably won’t return again.

I’ve been here many times with friends. Invariably good. Last night our friends had a wonderful 1kg steak Florentine, and my wife and I shared a salt cooked branzino. Good deserts and a nice bottle of Sardinian red wine Rocco Rubio.

restaurant definitely below what you expect: very high prices and dishes not up to par. The location is very elegant, quick waiters, nothing to say. It's food that isn't worth what you pay, from the entrée which isn't like a starred restaurant, but absolutely normal tastings, nothing wow, to the first courses, which are very expensive, €32-34, but modest in quantity and flavour. The catch then, a 7 hg sea bream sold for €100 is decidedly excessive, given that, even in this case, you can't really say wow. On the menu you will also find a sea bream in crazy water at €42, which at this point will be farmed, given that the catch is indicated on the menu and €42 for a farmed fish seems absurd to me. Equally expensive desserts, €18-20, there is a lot to be said for here too. In short, the same owners have other restaurants where you eat better and spend much less

Perfect experience starting with the telephone reservation and continuing with the table service, precise in the description of the dishes offered and always attentive to every need. Presentation of the courses, quality of the raw materials and 5-star palate satisfaction. Highly recommended.

Very welcoming place, large tables, very pleasant outdoor area. The seafood cuisine offered is excellent, unprocessed dishes with exceptional flavour, raw materials of the highest quality and expert execution. The wine list is very complete and you can find all the possible choices, including local ones. Plus the owners have a farm where the vegetables come from, a plus. Service as it should be and for me more than justified. Super.

I have been to this place several times out of season and everything is impeccable. Excellent quality food well served and with correct portions. The tasting menu is classically a must-try, each dish is a joy for the palate, Impeccable service, very kind waiters available to satisfy every request. Excellent wine list. Absolutely correct price.

What a dinner! And what a location!

Restaurant on the Forte seafront, the location is very beautiful, then dining next to the pianist who plays makes everything more beautiful. High level service, only a few small shortcomings to be improved (a little more attention at the table especially with regards to cleaning perhaps the breadcrumbs or the empty plates. All exceptional dishes, a note of merit for the cappellacci of sea bream. Menu of the Impressive wines, sommelier up to par. Honest, worth every penny.
