We made a short stop in Ferrara to visit the city center and for lunch we choose to eat at Woodpecker. The restaurant is cozy and they have a terrace where you can eat in the summer. They have a lunch menu at 13 euros consisting in 2 dishes and a beverage. The plate are quite consistent. We took 2... More

This was a good find, in a Ferrara side street and offering a great meal at very affordable prices. I had the vitello tonnato, one of my favourites, and the Woodpecker version was tasty and flavoursome in an ample portion. I followed this with ragu, which was rich and toothsome, along with some gluten-free pasta which came pretty close to... More

Four of us went for supper last night (June 29 2016). The service was prompt and the staff were attentive. We had the fixed-price menu (€13 each) which allowed us to pick from each course. We found the beef to be bland. The pastas were fine. It's a good place to pick up a meal that is "tipico" and get... More

A really nice trattoria in a narrow street of Ferrara. The view was excellent and the food even better. Prices are quite good considering the quality.

We had dinner here a couple of times. Quite a large restaurant with inside and outside seating. Very slow service. English menu available. Pasta was ok - i had the spaghetti ragu which was nothing special. My husband loved the pizza and his other colleagues who have been there multiple times say that it does the best pizza in town!

We were just for a night in Ferrara and initially didn't intend to eat outside. Yet, we got hungry after a couple of hours walking and found this place on a street in the old town. In fact we haven't found so many places in Ferrara to have a dinner, and this one looked the best. Well, the service was... More

I visited Ferrara at the beginning summer and, walking around the centre in search of a place to have lunch, I spotted this restaurant with tables outside. It looked very good for a break in a hot day. Besides the menu offered an interesting selection of the typical dishes of Ferrara, I hadn't time for a big lunch and I... More
