Most restaurants were full on a Saturday night. Found this restaurant down a side street that could accommodate a table for 2. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food ok, nothing special. The decor was old fashioned and could do with updating, especially the toilets which are off putting, especially if you go there before ordering. This area needs attention! Cover... More

While walking from the Castello, we glanced up a narrow street and saw the sign for this restaurant but we almost missed it. Knowing that off-the-main beat restaurants often serve better food at reasonable prices, we decided to try this. We weren't disappointed. The service was good; our server tolerated our Italian and spoke English in return and we made... More

Just off the Ferrara castle, somehow hidden in the side alley is the Postman inn. Very Italian. Unpretentious, and really lovely pasta and ravioli. Fresh and fullfilling. Really nice waitress and charming little "garden" (street) tables makes it a perfect stop for lunch or diner. Just minutes from the cathedral.

We stumbled on this place as we arrived late in Ferrara and everywhere seemed to be closing. very old place that smelt a bit musty and very dark with basic rustic tables. The food was very good and service was quick, very limited menu typical Ferrarese food (and hard to read in the dark ) But my gnocchi with pesto... More

In spite of the sticker on the door, claiming to accept visa and other cards, I was informed when I tried to pay the bill they didn't take credit cards. I fortunately had enough cash to cover the €50 tab, but I find this deception annoying. I believe it is a tax dodge, as the handwritten receipt that I was... More

Food acceptable but let a bit down by inexperienced service (waitress did not know the ingredients of the ragu) and blandness of delivery. Portions are on the generous side, and the whine by the glass is more than acceptable. Would probably go back but with little expectations.

Small place, seems to be more pub than a restaurant, but food is really good. Waitress speaking fluent english, not easy to find in ferrara!

Ate here on a Saturday evening. Service was good and friendly, our waitress spoke good English. The food was good (I had really flavourful pasta with gorgonzola sauce, and the Salumi di Sugo, a Ferrara speciality) and great value - 55 euros for two primi, two mains, a liter of house wine, and a bottle of mineral water.

In front of the castle in a small and quiet alley. The tables outside are very romantic (little bit dark). The cusine isn't generouse (very small portion) but offers a typical Emilian menu. If you go there in summer remember that there isn't air conditioning inside the restaurant (too hot at lunch).

Well, we ate here several times over a couple of trips and looked forward to going back this year. There are a couple of little tables outside in an ancient alleyway, they are fine for a narrow view of the plaza, rather romantic. The interior is dark and intended for romance, our only complaint was that the menu font size... More
