We were in Ascoli for 5 nights - and had Dinner twice in La Locandiera during our stay. The lamb was so delicious, that when we returned 3 days later - we had exactly the same meal. EXACTLY the same. No bill the second time - but the young lady waitress verbally told us the total - which was €10... More

Don't miss this place if you are in Ascoli Piceno! It was recommended to me by a friend who lives there and it is truly a gem. If you are on holiday and looking for an authentic Italian restaurant....head for La Locandiera. I've been twice and am looking forward to going back. The restaurant was full of locals both times... Our party of four was headed to a different restaurant but when we found it nearly empty at lunchtime we took that to be a bad omen. While retracing our steps we noticed this place had plenty of customers, so we walked in. Despite the place being nearly full, we were welcomed and a table was found for us. We... More

We went back to this place 4 years later and again had one of our best meals in Ascoli Piceno. We were met and waited on by the same person as before. Language was a barrier but it all worked out.

Wandering thru this town. Pleasantly accosted by man hawking his restaurant - fair enough - he hands out a flyer and directs us towards his place. The same direction we were walking so no great plan to go there. BUT.... Italian guy in an electric wheelchair spots us with said flyer and strongly advises us to go elsewhere! He speaks... More

Informal atmosphere with a good location. Delicious food freshly prepared . Good but limited choice on the menu. The menu was available for non Italians and did help with choosing dishes. Local starter was fantastic particularly the ricotta. The lamb was the best I have tasted in some time!

We loved this restaurant and ate here twice. Pasta is beautifully fresh and the sauces are deceptively simple and accomplished. No hestitation recommending.

The Management has no idea what it means to run a business. There is nothing behind it. We have tried to book. Rejected with no elegance. We do not recommend. Try somewhere else. There are many other better restaurant in Ascoli PIceno.

Our evening at La Locandiera was truly memorable: comfortable setting, a warm welcome and fabulous food! Within seconds of arriving we were offered delicious local wine and felt very comfortable in this popular family-run establishment. The smiling host suggested the antipasti being featured that night - which arrived in a sequence of dishes (we counted at least six!) - all... More

We enjoyed two delectable pastas, one with funghi, the other with tomatoes. Don't be put off by the simple menu under plastic or the limited English; after you pick a sauce, you select a pasta, which arrives hot and fresh and perfectly cooked. With salads, a delicious local wine, and a shared panna cotta with seasonable strawberries, we ate well.... More
