We were looking for a good old traditional burger and found this great place. They have a wide range of opportunities but we went for the mini burgers (I usually call them sliders). You could have them in many ways and they were just perfect. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. I would go there again if... More

I am extremely grateful to the staff at this restaurant and their sister restaurant on the seafront for looking after my daughter so well. We had left Ireland at 4am and my daughter who is disabled and not able to eat food like pizza, needed something like pasta. It was 6pm, too early for most restaurants in this area to... More

Visited Barcala 3 times during our stay in Alassion - great food: meat is perfect, variety of burgers is huge. Once had pizza as a starter - quality is good, but were not very impressed. This restaurant has good selection of wines and beers (German draught and bottled). We were able to eat desserts only once, crispy tiramisu was good.... More

If we had to eat only one cuisine, most likely it would be Italian. But after 2-3 weeks of the same diet, it is time to try something else-even if it is going back to your own traditions. In Liguria, seafood and shellfish are king and rightly so. Still, once in a while some of us crave meat-even just a... More

I loved the decor of Barcala and the food and service were really good. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, despite all our odd, food intolerance-related questions. Everybody spoke good English too. It might be on the expensive side even for Alassio's standards but I think it's worth it.

Wide choice and good quality of pizzas and meats. The pizza is the thick one, so if you are a fan of thin pizza, this won't be your place! Staff was very helpful and quick. If you go there off season you can taste the farinata which is a sort of chickpeas flat pizza - typical from this region and... More

My boufriend and me decided to have dinner at Barcalà because we wanted to try the Jamaican burger and the Tropea burger. So, we took a table outside, on the nice via Torino. We waited 5 minutes before a waiter noticed us, and another quarter of hour before someone took the order, despite we were the only 2 customers sit... More

We used to go to eat with them when they were near the fortress, at La Lanterna. They were friendly, attentive. Now prices have gone up since they are in the centre of Alassio. The ambience is nice and pizza still good. But they have lost their friendly manners. They have become a bit snobbish....
