My family have been coming to Chateau la Coste since it opened. This year we were particularly excited as a friend had an exhibition and new sculpture. As usual the Art walk was fantastic. Despite being midweek (Wed 5Aug), and the virus, the place was...very busy. We booked the Tadao Ando at 1pm on the terrace, left hand side just after the door. The waiter was off from the start but also working in hospitality we cut some slack to staff when very busy. The waiter, about 170cm tall, dark hair- longish over short sides, stubble/light beard, asked us for our order starters first. We didn’t want any starters which seemed to confuse him, and ordered four entrecotes and two child meals. My wife asked if she could swap the potatoes for salad and he said: “It comes with salad, just don’t eat the potatoes” It was rude but we let it pass. Our steaks arrived and there was some confusion as to which was medium-rare and which was medium. In the end only one was medium rare and given to the wrong person. Tasted good so we didn’t say anything. My son had nearly finished eating his chicken when I noticed the center of the leg was red. We pointed it out to the waiter he said “It’s fine you should have told me before , I would have brought you another”, we tried to protest that we didn’t know before but he said the same thing again. No sorry, didn’t say he’d mention it to the chef, didn’t offer to comp a coffee, nothing. This was well below the experience we’ve come to enjoy there and expect for relatively simple food at that price point. Though we understand mistakes happen it is inexcusable not to at least apologise to the guests when they are unhappy and try and accommodate them where you can. This also falls back on the management to make sure they are adequately staffed for the number of bookings they take and the staff have the proper training for interacting with customers.More

We had a wonderful experience in the Tadao Ando Restaurant at Château La Coste. The waiters were very friendly and fast. They took our orders promptly and also served quickly. As an appetizer we had the beets with goat cheese. It was a beautiful dish,...the beets were fresh and the cheese was very tasty. Definitely recommended!!! We had three main dishes: 1) Seabass served on fresh spinach and tomatoes The fish was super fresh and cooked to perfection. The combination of fresh spinach with sweet cherry tomatoes was to die for! They were so sweet they almost tasted like candy. Definitely recommended!!! 2) Penne Pasta with mixed vegetables This dish was very easy, but super delicious! The pasta was housemade and the vegetables were fresh. Also recommendable!!! 3) Lamb cutlets with gravy, mushrooms and white beans in tomato sauce. This dish was actually a big disappointment. Comparing this to the other dishes we had. The quality of the lamb was great, but there was way too much fat on the side. Fat is good, especially for lamb, which gives it flavor, but in this case less would have been more. The mushrooms were fine, but a little bit over salted. The only good thing about this dish were the white beans in tomato sauce. They were absolutely delicious! As a dessert we shared the Cafe Gourmand and the rice pudding. The Cafe Gourmand was an espresso with some small desserts like a tiramisu, a macaron etc. Very nice! The rice pudding was awesome! The rice had a nice texture and the raspberries finished it off just perfect. Although the lamb was just marginal and frankly disappointing, everything else was absolutely fantastic. I can only recommend this restaurant!More

Ideal place to eat after an amazing 2 hour tour of the artworks, food and service was good, the acoustics of the building makes it rather noisy when full as it was!

Great location, superb food and wine and miserable service. The price calss of the restaurant should definitely allow to hire experts in gastronomy. Maybe there is no need since the rstaursnt is still full due to the fantastic location and food.More

we visited recently with 13 friends and they did not serve beer. One of our party could not drink wine so they went 2km to the Villa hotel and collected bottles for him. Food good, service outstanding!

We had high expectations when arriving here. Wonderful landscape, beautiful artworks, great wine.... But a very disappointing diner experience. Tastless veloute of Jerusalem artichoke, a fish in need of seasoning. A mediocre pie. Friendly staff, good service.

I think the 20th time we ate here, but never in high summer! Garage was full, which we never experienced, normally there are 10 cars....but all good, nice menu list with enough choices, we ate wonderful with the 3 of us.., not too hot! may...be due to the water surrounding the restaurant...a place to go back whenever there is an occasion, also good service...will try soon the hotel and Louise!More

The restaurant is placed in absolutely fantastic surroundings. We had lunch at the restaurant after an art walk. It was rush hour at noon meaning that the waitresses were busy but still friendly.
