Came especially to taste Helene Darroze cuisine in this fantastic hotel of Villa La Coste. We were lucky to have diner in the Louison room. The table was located just below Louise Bourgeois. The food was very tasty with some incredible texture. We took the...7 courses menu and we were all delighted. The service was very professional and friendly at the same time.More

We were travelling from Aix and discovered on Instagram that Helene Darroze’s team from The Connaught will be in this amazing 5* hotel for summer. We went for lunch and they create a very unique and simple menu but so tasty! The Burrata was to...die for and the Sea Bass en croûte en sel was prepared with class! Thank you for this incredible moment that we will never forget. MERCIMore

Helene darroze has been a chef that gave me one of my most amazing memorable lunch experience. I am lucky enough to do 3-4 2-3 Michelin Star per year. So over a trip back home from Côte d’Azur I had much expectation testing Helene darroze...féminin cooking. Villa la Coste is an intimate, extremely well designed and comfortable location. Extremely Stunning. When it comes to the food itself. What is good? Yes it was good. Was it well cooked? Yes it was well cooked. Was it well served? Yes it was well served. Was it expensive? Oh damned yes it was expensive. Does it worth the trip? Clearly not. The food concept is very close to a gastro pub. Premium ingredients- well cooked food except that it has this fancy hotel gastro pub positioning (villa la Coste is also an Hotel) - where it is priced doubled the market just because you are captive and taste is good but to please most of the customer therefore you loose some of the chef magic powder and a part of your wallet. You will be proposed a glass of champagne - just be aware it is 35 euro per glass - more expensive than any of the 3 star Michelin I have done over the past 12 month. All the mains are above 35 - had the coquelet ie. And does not come with anything. Each side is 7 euro. So if you want a coquelet (small size) with a salad and some fries - you will be around 50 euro. And I will still be hungry. That is far too expensive - it is lacking Helene magic touch and gastro pub are not that expensive at 35 you need to get all your side with it. So as a friendly tip - to all the gastro travelled just like me when heading from Côte d’Azur to Northern Europe and you want to make a stop - stop at pic in valence. The Andre gastro pub for 35 euro is just amazing and worth the trip. Désoler Hélène mais à ce prix là c’est pas au niveau - mais je comprend qu’on ne demande pas à ce lieu d’être concurrentiel.More

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 26th anniversary. We were not disappointed! Our villa was stunning. It was designed with care and complete attention to details - no shortcuts. The restaurant is delicious with spectacular views and fun staff. The wines are...of course divine. The restaurant sits in a glass box with high ceilings. It was such an experience... The staff are attentive and quick to take care of your needs. The "art walk" around the vineyard is a great attraction as well. Highly recommend!More

Pleasant welcome in attractive hotel. We were taken to a table outside which in spite of parasols did not provide enough shade as it was very hot. We requested a table inside which was duly provided. The brunch is 65 euros to which we added...a bottle of La Coste’s sparkling rosé as the aperitif and a bottle of their red with the brunch. There was a buffet of rather uninspiring starters, albeit very plentiful. The problem was the service from start to finish. We had to ask to order the sparkling wine and then to enquire when it was coming after a long wait. A circulation problem when leaving the buffet to go back into the dining areas needs to be looked into. We had been given a menu with foie gras among the starters. It had all gone so yet again we had to ask. The hot courses were either eggs, chipolatas, gambas or sardines. We managed to catch the eye of a waitress. Two grilled sardines arrived with half a potato. So we had to order two more afterwards.... Why don’t the owners take a page out of the book of the hotel chateau nearby which has got everything right, and so it should be for a five star establishment. Cheese board and desserts were fine. On leaving the sun was shining brightly on the food displayed on the buffet table..... I rarely write negative reviews as usually we have an idea about a restaurant before booking and it’s rare that we are disappointed. As the restaurant attached to the hotel has a michelin starred chef, we assumed that the brunch would be very good. I’m not looking for grated carrots and potato salad. Maybe the chef has left? I’ve taken time to write this review in the hope that the owner will read it as constructive criticism - his hotel and outdoor space are beautiful and it’s a great pity that he doesn’t have staff providing the service this place deserves.More
