Me and my family stopped for dinner here yesterday. We had not pre booked but we're seated immediately. Social distancing was paramount here as was disinfecting. They had a very nice menu and when our food arrived at the table it was fresh and piping hot. The staff were very helpful and polite. You had the choice to eat either outside or inside and it was very reasonably priced. We own a rather large campervan but there was ample parking across the road from the building which was also a bonus. I have nothing but high praise for these premises and staff and am looking forward to a return visit very shortly.

I cannot speak highly enough about this Restaurant, we dropped in at the last minute to see if we could get a table, we had to wait a while but were able to have a drink at the tables outside, while there the owner came to chat and make sure we were being looked after. When we got our table inside, there was plenty space, we felt very safe while also being in a Restaurant/ Bar with a great atmosphere and buzz about it. The selection on the menu for starters, mains and deserts was phenomenal and when the food arrived it did not disappoint, portions were a decent size and the food was so tasty. Before we left the owner came to our table again to check that everything was ok for us, have a little chat and thank us for visiting, it seems to be part of his service that everyone gets a personal thank you before they leave. All the staff were so nice, the food was also very good value, well done to everyone at Nevins.

After having a glorious day spent on Achill Island we had well and truly worked up a hunger by the time we stopped at Nevins. It looks like a typical Irish pub that serves food from the outside but it is so much more having a bar, BnB and a function room to boot all on the sane premises with loads of parking. We had a 10-15 min wait as it’s was super busy but we got a table outside in the lovely covered seating area. We had a lovely waitress Avril who very kindly helped me with my meal choice decision making. We settled on 2 x roast beef dinners and 2x chicken burgers. There was a delay with one of the chicken burgers which was mine and John the owner came out personally and apologised for the delay. Regarding the food everything was truly delicious and nothing was left on any of our plates. Unfortunately we were all so hungry we forgot to take photos. Everything was presented beautifully but more importantly everything tasted amazing. I have to say that the chicken burger totally made up for the delay and it certainly was worth waiting for. Possibly the nicest I have ever eaten. Real fillet of chicken with a Cajun sauce streaky bacon and cheese on a brioche bun served with homemade chips. The roasts came with Yorkshire puddings and the most delicious gravy accompanied with a side of cabbage mash and mixed carrots. The total bill including a pint of coke a bottle of Magnets and 2 sodas came to €79. And well worth every penny. John the owner who we struck up a lovely conversation with gave my 2 daughters complimentary 99 ice creams which were all so delicious. I can highly recommend this lovely restaurant and will most certainly stop off there again on our next trip to Achill.

Earlier today I headed to Nevin’s to meet up with friends for lunch, it was wonderful to catch up with John Nevin in the restaurant, the fire was roaring and I quickly settled in and whilst I waited I ordered a pot of tea and an incredibly delicious scone with creme. My friends soon arrived all of us enjoying the warm and inviting atmosphere of Nevin’s. I had the farm vegetable soup with brown bread, it was just perfect. We were not rushed as we sat with a bit of a wild storm raging outside. Hated to leave and only wished I had booked a night upstairs in the B & B.

I'll start with the positives. If you are staying in Mulranny you can give them a call and they will arrange to pick you up and drop you back to your accomodation which is great if you want a few drinks (drink driving is hopefully a thing of the past). Food was ok. Personal preference but they could simplify their mussels main course by scrapping the croutons and watercress and also serving it with homemade brown bread rather that what I world call shop bought brown bread. I know it is a pub in West of Ireland but if you order wine bring it to table to open. Don't bring a pre opened bottle of wine down. Overall staff were very attentive but just not my cup of tea I'm afraid.

I was surprised at the standard of food, (based on the very positive reviews read on trip advisor on the whole). The lunch menu is the same as a dinner menu therefore meals ranged from €14 to 20 plus. There were starters available and one sambo type dish at €9.50 half a ciabatta came with a couple of strips of chicken melted brie and a tablespoon of salad at best. No selections of sambos salads etc that one may expect at 1pm. A very underwhelming lunch. With fairly expensive main meals on offer. On a positive the place was nicely decorated spotlessly clean with excellent covid protocols/social distancing. Staff pleasant and plentiful. I wouldnt deviate to visit this pub again.

Up in Mulranny for a wedding and here for grub on the night before. We hadn't a reservation so had to wait for about 30 minutes as the place was absolutely hopping. Two beers while we waited and watched teh comings and goings and then large mussels, open salad with prawns, sour dough and brie and tea. €48 all told. A nice chat with the owner and a great time had!

The staff at reception and in the restaurant are all great, friendly and caring. The person who checked us in came at breakfast to say good morning to each table and make sure we had everything we needed, I saw the staff cleaning the table, the seats, and the menus after each guest. The choice on the menu were great, we have indulged ourselves to a pre Christmas dinner with some money given to us for Christmas. The room was very comfortable and spotless, we had a view on a lake on the other side of the street, the receptionist made sure the heating was on when we checked in, We were staying in the little annexe after the church, where we could park the rented car in front of our window. We have enjoyed our stay so much, we could have stayed a full week. We will be back some other time to do the do some hiking or cyclying and stay there again! Thank you so much!

Got to Nevins on a very wet miserable day on the Greenway. In addition to having gorgeous food (vegan menu available), John (the owner of the business) drove us back to Mulranny so we would not have to cycle in the rain. A fantastic place with great staff and a lovely attitude. Thank you so much John.

It was somewhat incongruous to have a robot dominating ‘operations’ whilst-ever all other aspects of the dining experience were so typically 20th century Irish. Nevin’s delivers everything you’d expect from a country inn - tasty food, generous portions, nothing too adventurous, plenty of carbs, good value, nothing posh… Our human waitress was really engaging and fun. The Owner too was on hand to make sure all our needs were being met. And then there’s the robot who landed only last week ; let the entertainment begin !

Parked in our Motorhome across the road in a nice quiet area. Nevin's offered takeaway meals on Saturdays from 12-8. We rang and ordered our meal which was ready at the exact time they said it would. Boy oh boy what a portion. The food was presented beautifully for a takeaway, it was piping hot and tasted magnificent. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. A great place to park overnight if you have a camper and you have the best food at your doorstep. Will certainly be back.

Stayed in Achill for 2 weeks in July 2021. We cycled the greenway (highly recommend) from Achill to Nevins, there are signs on the greenway for Nevins & you can come off the greenway and make your way directly to Nevins without having to go on the road. The food was amazing, I had the ultimate cheeseburger & it is the nicest burger I have ever tasted, juicy but not greasy. The food was so good that we all returned for dinner the next day, again I had the cheeseburger, followed by death by chocolate. The next day we were heading home & decided to stop for breakfast, I had the full irish & it was delicious. I also need to mention the turkey & ham which a few of my family had & said was gorgeous. It was also great to see it on the kids menu, my son was delighted & he devoured the whole lot. Great to see a really good kids menu with lots of options & not just chicken nuggets! The waiting staff were lovely, they were extremely busy but were always polite, engaging & made an effort to chat & ask about our stay Nevins has a great setup for outdoor dining, it was lashing rain on our second visit but we were well covered. I'd definitely return

We ate twice at Nevins while on holiday in Mayo and the food and service were absolutely excellent! We did not have a booking but where seated very quickly. The food was delicious with something on the menu for everyone, the portions are large and great value for money, something you don't get everywhere nowadays! The servers are very nice, polite and friendly also and the atmsophere was great. Highly reccomend Nevins and we will be back! :)

We stayed here as a family for 2 night this week. The accommodation was very good, clean and comfortable. We ate on the premises both evening, the first night in the covered area to the front and the second in the covered area to the rear of the premises. Both areas were excellent in the current circumstances. Bothe evening meals were excellent, including starters (seafood chowder) and desserts. We also ate breakfast in the lounge area both mornings and again the food was to a very high standard. Any of the staff we met were helpful, courteous and polite. We thought the stay was excellent value for money including the breakfast.

We are on holidays and this is our first time ever in Ireland. We stopped off around 5pm and we were sitting in the lounge! Nevins Newfield Inn is about 6 miles from Newport and a 10/15 minute drive from Westport, where we were staying. We were greeted at the door by the lovely Claire, she showed us to our seat. The menu is just unbelievable there are so many options, an amazing gluten free menu with many choices from starters, main courses and desserts! The kids menu and daily specials menu were just to die for! After Claire seated us, the lovely Katie Mcnae came down, she got a drink order for us straight away and was able to answer some of my questions regarding my dietary requirements without hesitation. The food was just gorgeous, our children were just delighted they absolutely adored their meals and of course some icecream afterwards! There is such a large selection on the menu and we didn’t know where to look, we asked Katie for some suggestions, it wasn’t a disappointment😊 We had monkfish, the ultimate cheeseburger, gluten free lamb cutlets, kids burgers and kids roast dinner, her suggestions didn’t disappoint us! 🤤 We were so full we unfortunately didn’t have any room for dessert, but never fear, we will be back 😊 The service overall was very efficient, professional and confident. Claire checked on our table when we were half way through our meal, Claire also checking really adds a touch to the service. We cannot recommend Nevins Newfield Inn enough to you! We have already told all our friends to pop in. We cannot wait to visit again next year, Claire was so lovely and friendly, Katie Mcnae was very efficient, kind, talkative and as they say here in Ireland “good ol craic!” All the best for the future to Mr.Nevin, this is an amazing establishment with top class food and service and staff! Can’t wait until next summer!!😊😊
