Very disappointing--this was a Rick Steve's recommended restaurant, and his pictures were on the walls and featured on the menu. The restaurant is small with less than 30 diners. There were 3 servers, but the service was poor, and we received our food piecemeal so that we were in the restaurant 3 hours for lunch. When the food did come,... More

Antica Forno restauranteur and chef Franco Sala cooks great food and brings to this wonderful restaurant the charm that makes him one of the most charming people I ever met. The food is fantastic, the wine amazing, prices reasonable, atmosphere in the restaurant beautiful. Lunch is served from 12 to 3; then Franco comes out and chats with the customers.... More

After the beautiful walk, we needed to pause for a delicious lunch! We picked the right spot. Polenta with salsizza was amazing! Gnocchi with pesto complemented the group as well. The tagliatelle ala medieval was also amazing. House wine fit the bill and all enjoyed. Give it a try!

Stumbled in on this place and was not disappointed. Don't let the casual lack of electricity fool you. This is the best restaurant in Civita. I went there for lunch with two friends and we had a great experience. Great food! We ordered several plates of the medieval pastas and found them to be the best in Italy! At the... More

You walk in and smells like heaven! Service was amazing and the staff is super friendly. The food was great! Enjoyed the sausage on the grilled meat platter.

Poped in while in Civita photoshooting. I ordered piciarelli truffle pasta, my husband tagliatelle alla medioevale. Both were great. Service rather slow, but the atmosphere and food is great!

We visited on a very busy hot Sunday and the waiting staff managed very well. The pasta was lovely. The main disappointment however was the fact that I ordered scallopini (translated on the menu as scallops) - and what arrived was veal (ugh!).

One of Italy's lesser known but one of the best sites, Bagnoregio is the home of this great little restaurant. Yes, the service is not so great but the food is exceptionally. I have never tasted french fries like those they make at this place. Next trip to Italy make sure you go to Bagnoregio.

recommend the saltimbocca. The mixed grill for two was good as was the scallopini with wine. The fusilli with 4 cheese was yum as well. Get the house wine and you are in heaven!!!
