We waited at counter for around 10 minutes being totally ignored by the staff literally refusing to make eye contact, finally served with staff member just saying are you right, there was only two other tables occupied when we arrived so they weren't busy, ask...for the cheese platter to come out first, $39 extremely over priced , came out after our meals, meals were overpriced for the serving size, to be fair food was fresh and tasty, won't be going backMore

Lovely coffee and tea, pie was a let down as well as the price, however the service was impeccable. The lovely ladies serving us were just delightful and informative and the cheese tasting was divine. I wish the staff dining area was open to guests...as they have the best view. Worth a visit.More

Arrived for an early lunch. Devonshire Tea was delicious. As we’re the toasted focaccia. Yummy milkshakes and nice ice cream too. It was busy when we were there though didn’t take long to receive our orders.

We arrived at 12.30pm for lunch and there were a number of people there but they weren't busy. The menu that we read on their website was different to the menu that they had on their board in the cafe and the things that were...on the board weren't available. The service was friendly but slow, the your girl on was definitely team carrying for the two other ladies in the kitchen. When our food arrived it was excellent, very tasty, fresh and good portions. Go here for lunch because the food is amazing just lower your expectations on variety offered and allow 30 minutes more than you think you will need.More

The food here was sumptuous. I really enjoyed the milkshakes and the cakes. The toilets are hygienic and well-kept.

Unfortunately our experience at Mungalli Creek Dairy Café was disappointing. I had planned our trip for many months and a stop here was on our list. I had high hopes due to the stunning location but I’ll get the negatives out of the way first....When ordering our lunch for 5 people, one of our party asked what the difference between a smoothie and a lassi is, a very reasonable question. He was ridiculed by the woman serving him who asked him what flavour he wanted, and when told banana, she said “well there’s banana in it!” Still not explaining the difference between the two drinks and making him feel his question was foolish. I would also like to make others aware that there are two options when ordering a pie – the pies on their own are $9.50 but the printed menu only offers pies for $19.50, this is because they come with a little salad and charging an extra $10 for salad on the side is pretty ridiculous, two members of the family were caught out by this and it feels deceptive not to advertise the difference. Our experience did not improve when the meals finally arrived, with one family member’s pie being completely frozen in the middle. When he took it back, the people at the next table were also sending theirs back for the same reason. Disappointing enough to be served frozen instead of fresh food but when they can’t even get the reheating right it’s alarming. I ordered Devonshire tea – which is scones, jam and cream with either tea or coffee, I asked for tea. The scones came out but no beverage. I had to go and ask for my tea, and the response was “did you order tea?” A Devonshire Tea, by its very name, comes with tea. The staff member then blamed the woman taking the order for failing to put it in correctly. That’s something a business should never do, blame another staff member – just apologise profusely and fix the problem. Despite these issues, the food and milkshakes that we had were truly delicious and you can taste the fresh high quality milk and cream. Our food was brought out by a young girl who told us it was her first day and she was actually the loveliest staff member we encountered. If the café can get their staff issues, food service and customer service right they’ll be onto a winner as the views are unbeatable.More

I originally reviewed the Mungalli Creek Dairy Café in July 2020 to express my disappointment at what had been a poor experience. I have to say that I was pleased and impressed at their response, which ensured that we made a return visit after all....The second time could not have been more different. All our original issues had been addressed. We received attentive and very friendly service, the coffee and food was delicious (I can thoroughly recommend the freshly-baked scones) and we had a very interesting conversation with Michelle, the PR and Marketing manager, who joined us at our table for morning tea and added greatly to the pleasure of our experience. Our dog was also made very welcome. I thoroughly recommend Mungalli Creek Dairy Café if you are looking for country hospitality and delicious food.More

We stopped in this morning on the way to Port Douglas very keen to try the cafe. The cafe opened late and when they did open the woman simply turned the sign and walked off even though she could see people outside waiting. When we...went in the woman was quite rude and unfriendly. The cheesecake was really nice, coffee very average...overall disappointing and won’t go back 👎More

Looking forward to having lunch here although a little late but we were greeted with “we don’t have any food left very busy what do you want.?” This woman who greeted us badly needs a personality transplant. This is not the way to treat the...public who are supporting her business. Would not recommend this establishment there is another Dairy in the area with friendlier staff.More

We stopped for lunch on the way home from Malanda. We were greeted warmly by the staff who were very cheerful. It was lovely inside with different eating areas. There was interesting things for sale such as quirky fridge magnets, prints on canvases and local...produce. The views outside were beautiful and if it wasn't raining we would have loved to sit outside. My chicken pie and davidson plum cheesecake were delicious. I will go there again.More
