Once you walk in you will very soon realize that the place is basic with no extra frills but just like its decoration the food and it's taste is absolutely to the point, which is very high in taste quotient. I would recommend all to at least try it once if you are in the vicinity. Focus here is on... More

From the minute we walked in the door we felt welcome, it felt like Mrs Barrie was inviting us into her own home . This is one of the most relaxing experiences I have enjoyed in a restaurant in a long time. The curry and rice are the best by a long mile that I have ever experienced. I will... More

Visited by chance last time we were in Bodmin (reviewed then too!) We loved the experience so much, we just had to pop back. We weren't disappointed The food was as tasty as before, and the atmosphere as relaxed and carefree as before. I can see why this place isn't everyone's cup of tea. It does require a leap of... Well I am not sure how to rate this as the food was really tasty and the portions a nice size. However it appears to be run by one chef & a waiter. It will probably be one of my more memorable eating experiences as it resembled Fawltey Towers in some manners. We arrived & they sent us to the... More

If you're up for something a bit fun and different with hands down the best curry I've tasted then look no further. From having to write down your own order to collecting your own beer from the fridge and glass off the tray, if you've got an open mind then it's a very enjoyable experience. The service that is offered... More

I inquisitively popped my head around the front door to be greeted by Mrs Barrie and a friendly assistant. I looked at the simplistic menu on the white board and had to give it a go.... The service was basic but effective and the food was bloody fantastic! *****

Mrs Barrie is still cooking the best curry in Cornwall... with great service. The menu is pleasingly simple and the quality of the food is exceptional. Most main dishes are about £5... so you are going to get great value for money. Recently refurbished, so really pleasant surroundings and easy street parking outside the restaurant. Can't fault it... give it... More

Met at the door by a smiling Mrs Barrie. Seems she and her husband are both retired but have returned to the restaurant they established in 1985 where they are loved by the local community. So this is probably why you write out your own order and take it to her in the kitchen and help yourself to drinks from... More

What can you say when the menu arrives with a pencil and order pad and your told to write your own order and hand it in at the kitchen hatch!!! Then told you can choose and serve your own drinks from 'over there' as a hand swishes towards a full bar and upright chiller cabinets!!!! Oh well, lets get with... More
