Surprisingly the restaurant doesn't appear on the Michelin list preferring to send you to the Toby Carvery in Carlisle! Don't listen, this restaurant serves a superb three course a la carte dinner, all the dishes excellently cooked and presented. The staff are helpful and friendly....They do need an "expert" to help with the decent wine list for pairings, but perhaps that is coming soon. There was obviously a lot of local produce. Recommended, come on Michelin!More

A warm welcome awaited us when went to Farlam Hall to celebrate a friends birthday. Our coats were taken and we were ushered into the drawing room for pre dinner drinks and canapés. The choice from the menus suited us all and with a lot...of dithering we made our minds up. As we were all working the following day we chose a bottle of the house red. After about half an hour we were asked to go to the dining room. Our beautifully laid table awaited us and we enjoyed an utterly delicious dinner, beautifully served in very elegant surroundings. The waitresses couldn’t do enough for us-they were attentive and polite but left us to enjoy ourselves. After pudding we had coffee in the drawing room and a chance to reflect on our fabulous meal. Altogether an excellent evening was had by all of us. Will definitely recommend. Thank you.More

We had our amazing wedding at Farlam Hall 5 years ago and returned for our wedding anniversary last weekend, aware that Barry, Lynne, and Helen had moved on. The new management were just as warm and welcoming, and have already started a major refurb/re-decoration programme....Whilst we liked the old 'chintsy' feel of the Hall, it was a bit dark in places, and BB and her team have done a great job in refreshing the decor whilst maintaining it's antique feel... the dining room is now classic whites and greys, beautiful for a wedding reception, with the main lounge to follow suit. Our Sunday Dinner was very nice, with locally sourced ingredients, and a good choice of starters, mains, and desserts, beautifully cooked and presented by Matt, who learned his profession from Barry. You can see that, despite the odd error, high quality service is very important to BB and the Team, and we're sure this will be top drawer once dust has settled. We would highly recommend Farlam Hall as a smaller, intimate, exclusive wedding venue, with its beautiful grounds... we will never forget our wedding day there.More
