We popped in here before a walk along Hadrian’s Wall and I am so pleased we did. The bacon sarnies were so good! It felt very safe and well spaced and a lovely wood fire on in the corner.

We stopped here for a snack on the way to the Lakes and everything was amazing, the safety measures made us feel safe and relaxed, the food was excellent and the Staff were very efficient and friendly. We called on the way back as well...as it was so good.More

We went here for an impromptu lunch - really friendly service, lovely food, very reasonable prices and takeaway cake. We will definitely go again.

We drove past this accidentally as the sign and exterior were slightly unassuming. Once located though we got a friendly welcome and though initially not enough space indoors as soon as a table came free we were summoned in. The savoury food and coffee was...all good and there was a tempting range of scones, traybakes and cakes which you could take away also. Enjoyable visit!More

We were on our way to the incredible Roman ruins at Homesteads when we happened upon this gem. It is a "folksy" cafe with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that is exuded not only by the simple, clean decor but also by the lovely staff. The...food is uncomplicated and of excellent quality. Sandwiches, soups, or basic meals of a more substantive nature are locally sourced and delicious. The location is ideal if you want to make a quick stop on your way to the Roman ruins which are literally within half an hour's drive on the same road as you head away from Carlisle. Highly recommended!More

Called in for a bite to eat on our walk to Hadrian’s wall from Haltwhistle and so glad we did. Lovely friendly welcome. The cakes all looked delicious. We decided on the fruit scone with homemade rhubarb jam and cream and it was delicious. We...wished that we could of bought a jar of jam, as we would of definitely purchased some.More

Found this by chance whilst visiting Hadrian's Wall because I didn't want to faff around at a pub a few miles away that had a pay and display car park. Thank goodness I found this place. I visited with two young children at the end...of the day. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more accommodating. The coffee was great and food amazing. We had a late lunch and we were not rushed at all even though the cafe was closing soon. Staff were chatty and helpful and we weren't ripped off by some of the tourist prices in the area. We all had a great value lunch. Locals came in who were clearly regulars and were very positive about the cafe. I would go out of my way to come back here. FantasticMore
