Nice place to start, continue or end the night. Good choice of ales and nice atmosphere. A little small but I think that's the attraction.

Thanks very much for the 5 star review, it really makes a difference to an independent business! We agree, and think being small is part of the attraction :)

3 cask conditioned ales always on usually ranging from under 4% to 6%+ always interesting with an ever changing range of regional beers (and sometimes from afar!). Well kept ales and knowledgeable staff. Also wide range of continental and new world bottled beers. Interesting mini-meals...More

What a lovely place this is, its a long thin bar and has lots of selections of beers, they have theme nights that if I lived closed I would go to. What a fab find

Really good bar, with traditional English pies that were delicious. A really amazing beer selection of beers from all of Europe. Good recommendations for the beers. Had a steak & ale pie, 4 👍 up

Visited on a Saturday lunch time and was very quiet, and the two lads working there were clearly pleased to have something to do! They were very pleasant hosts, and the beer was superb with a nice bit of music for some ambience. We tried...More

Who would think you'd get not only great service, friendly banter, and superb beer in such a small pub. You also get great art done every week. What other pub allows local artists to paint temporary murals on the walls. It sums the place up....More

Thank you so much for the lovely review, and for appreciating the quirks! We don't manage to get the art wall repainted every week - and we love some of the paintings too much to paint over them that quickly - but yes we love...More

We drink in here regularly, because it is just a couple of doors away from our favourite restaurant, the Maliwan. The beer is always excellent, and there is always a choice of three real ales. It is also good for cakes and coffee, which are...More

Macclesfield is great for pie lovers and this eaterie specialises in pie and mash using local pies with mash, gravy and minted mushy peas. Good choice of vegetarian and meat pies.
