Been here several times recently and many times over the last few years since moving to Macclesfield. You can eat in or takeaway. The eating area can be a little crowded when it is busy. The quality and choice of food available is great. The sandwich choice is massive and thus far the bread used has not only been tasty... More

The perfect warm place on a freezing cold day we discovered. An avalanche of cakes, cheeses and pastries were available, and the coffees were well made and, most importantly, hot. The menus state that the place is called The Speckled Hen. The staff were young and eager and the place was busy which says a lot about it. Go here... More

Lovely little artisan style deli. Great service with a huge range of artisan style cakes and pies ect. Food was good but expected it to be a little better than it was, will definitely visit again though.

I've often been in for cheese & bread etc but never sat in so We payed a visit for afternoon tea and it was very busy ! We felt a little hemmed in and cramped as there was hardly any room to move. The tables and chairs are almost on top of each other. The service was really slow but... More

Never seen such outstanding service from such young staff. Me and my wife came to visit a few months back when the service lacked quite a bit, but when we came to visit on Saturday things Seemed to have improved dramatically. The tables were nicely set out with just amount enough room. The service was great when receiving the drinks.... More

On entering the place looked unkempt. Dirty tables, food on floor, staff in a huddle talking. The place was empty which should have alerted me, yet it used to be so good. Ordered a plain buttered scone and a cup of coffee. I got a less than fresh fruit scone with jam and SYNTHETIC cream. The coffee was weak, milky... More

Cheshire Gap is a local business that I use regularly. Either going into the shop/deli or using there delivery service for lunches at work. The choice of food is massive and really good quality. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I will continue to use them regularly

Needed lunch last week when in Macclesfield so called in here as the cake and pies display looked good..It is really a shop with a few tables squeezed in, not a cafe.. I sat at a tiny table and had a soup and tea.. The tea was advertised as being "a pot"....Except it was served in a glass with a... More

Yes as mentioned by other reviewers, the seating is a little tight in places but as this was a weekday plus fortunate timing meant managed to obtain seating with a little more space. Ordered tea for two, and although bags and not loose tea, the tea was good quality and tasted good. Also extra hot water was brought to the... More

Used to be a regular here some years ago and it was good with friendly service. No more. Croque Monsieur rather tasteless. Accompanying salad totally unimaginative. Couple of leaves and a tomato. Took 40 min to appear. Waitress lost with our two orders even though we'd been asked for a table number. Not cheap. Many tables free but unavailable as... More
