Nice little chippy. Not a lot more to say. Got a takeout from here yesterday and no issues, never are! Definitely one of my preferred for the area.

I stopped by for fish n chips and was waiting too long. It seems that they don't cook enough fish to keep up. While i waited everyone that ordered had to wait for fish to be cooked. The guy cooking only cooked four fish at...More

Sorry you felt this way Tony. The fact is, depending on the time and the shift, we often elect to fry to order so that your fish is as fresh and as good as it is possible to be. And, obviously, we fry it so...More

We are certainly spoilt with many fish & chip shops on our doorstep but I have to say this gem of a shop serves the best fish. Go for a large cod, middle piece, you will not be disappointed! It's literally the size of a...More

Thank you very much for your kind words. We've spent a lot of time with our fish supplier finding fish we are happy with and trying to make sure we maintain a steady supply. Cod and Haddock both present their challenges, as i am sure...More

Think it's probably unfair to review a fish & chip shop without having tried the fish but the queue was too long (I imagine this is a good sign?) so we settled for 2 chip butties & a sml carton of mild curry sauce. Served...More

Enjoyed haddock and chips from this small but well served chip shop. Young staff but they certainly knew how to cook fish and chips. They were hot and fresh. The fish was tasty and the chips crisp. Will visit again. Staff really friendly

It's a bit unfair to call this a chip shop because there is a good range of things to buy. I come here fairly often - but then it is my local chippy. The portions are generous and the fish is great with really crispy...More

Thanks very much for the kind words. You really should try the Parmo, we 'inherited' them as a local dish when we took over the shop - they are very popular in the north East, apparently. We certainly like them a lot and they make...More

Hi, I am visiting Pickering in 2 weeks time and am a vegetarian!!!! I know chip shops in Yorkshire like to cook their chips in dripping so could you tell me if yours are cooked in dripping or cooking oil? Thank you Molly
