My husband and I visited this café with our two children. We were just looking for a couple of coffees, mini hot chocolates and a little sweet treat for our girls. So nothing complicated. The counter where they display all the cakes and pastries was filthy. We should have really walked straight out then - but I felt that was... More

The mushrooms in my breakfast were the most delicious I have ever had in a cafe breakfast. Properly done not left to stew. My whole breakfast was cooked like 'my mum might make it'. Poached Eggs excellent too. Well worth stopping off when travelling through on the A272

This tired café was not very clean, we had to ask for our table to be cleaned. There were only about 8 customers but we had to wait 30 minutes for a very average toasted sandwich. By the time this arrived our pot of tea was luke warm. I will definitely give this a miss next time I am in... More

Decided to go with the family for a walk around Cowdrey then visit the new Cafe Fitzcanes which we heard had opened recently, to my surprise it was closed. How a new venture can close at one of the busiest times of the year is beyond me, thank god for good old Verdi although they where full they found us... More

Weary and hungry, we were delighted to find this spotless Cafe open so early. There was a wide choice of food both hot and cold, and an interesting array of goodies to purchase, jams etc: The staff were friendly and helpful and we would definitely go again and thoroughly recommend it.

We arrived just after school to find the kitchen closed. The staff were rude when we pointed out that we had started our order in time and had exceeded the allotted time by 3 minutes. We still ordered drinks and ice creams, but had to ask for a refund when they closed all the tables! They were incredibly hostile and... More

Excellent choice of sandwiches and cakes. Main menu good with fairly large portions. Great customer service. Bit bland in atmosphere and when we visited the day was quite warm so door yo garden open, normally not a problem but outside was a heavy smoker and the smoke came into the main dining area. Not nice when you do not smoke!... More
