Visited with family a little while back for a birthday celebration. Booked just a couple of hours in advance and we were greeted by the most delightful lady running front of house. She was so attentive and friendly from the very beginning, made sure we had everything we needed and was perfectly chatty and sweet. Nothing was too much trouble.... More

Visiting Ilfracombe at the end of the year you always run the risk of restaurants being closed - so we were fortunate enough to find 'Take Thyme' open on a Saturday night. Although not everything on the menu was available the choices we made turned out to be absolutely superb. The service, atmosphere and quality of food was first class... More

Had a sardine starter to share, fabulous fish stew and baked John Dory with a pesto crust for mains. The new potatoes were the 'actual bomb!'. Cheese board also fantastic and loved the port. Fantastic night all round. Loved Tara the owner - had loads of chat.

Visited last Saturday, restaurant quiet possibly due to it being Christmas lights turn on weekend. We had a fantastic meal, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. If in area again would definitely return.

This was our fourth visit to the restaurant, which has become one of our favourites. There is always a wonderful range of delicious delicacies on offer. So often fish restaurants drown the delicate taste of the fish with heavy sauces, but not here - herb butters and light sauces perfectly bring out the flavour of the fish. Service is friendly... We had a great evening last Saturday. I had seen an article in the North Devon Journal about great service here and we weren't disappointed. It was friendly and relaxed. The menu was mainly fish but not exclusively. We will definitely be going again.

Small independent restaurant serving wonderfully fresh food, beautifully cooked. If fresh fish is your thing make sure you book here. Service friendly atmosphere jolly and an all round good experience , oh and the very reasonable wine was well chosen.

The lady owner was really happy and smiley, slightly batty and good fun. The food was very tasty...wow! ....and I discovered white port!! Yummy! I'm glad it was Halloween or I'd have been rather unsettled at the number of witches and random zombies knocking on the windows, snarling at us...... 😁😄👿👹👻👾👽

This restaurant is a real gem, and a must visit place if you are in Ilfracombe. The fish is absolutely excellent and will satisfy the most discerning of palates. Do go and support this seafood restaurant where the food is so fresh and absolutely delicious.
