We have eaten here 5 times in past years. Paul and Sarah will really treat you with their superb food. It is quite simply miles better than anything else in Ilfracombe. Not cheap by Ilfracombe standards around £60 per head including wine but the food...More

Overall we enjoyed our visit to La Gendarmerie. The staff were lovely, the decor is gorgeous, I wanted to take your window shutters home! The only negatives I have are so minimal and would be so easy to overcome...a coat stand so I didn't have...More

I am sorry you felt dissatisfied with your meal, we have to accept not every customer is going to enjoy what we do, and even though you describe the food as excellent, you were unhappy with the portion size, that's fair enough, and we accept...More

We had a lovely family meal here, wonderful service complimented beautifully cooked food, an absolute highlight being the stone bass with brown shrimp, seaweed butter & oyster mayo , can't wait to return.
