Welcoming staff and lovely setting with ambience lighting and nice sound track , not a extensive menu but seem to be something for everyone. Scallope's were sweet and delicious the exmoor chicken was scrumptious too but I recommend the bread and butter pudding firm to look at but a lovely light texture. Would recommend a visit a real treat

As frequent visitors to Ilfracombe we have often visited here for coffee, and been very happy with it. However, on the last visit we were very disappointed to see a waitress making a fuss of and fondling two dogs outside before returning to the counter without washing her hands. A couple of minutes later she opened a cake stand and... More

We ate her on my birthday. The ambience is super. The food excellent, service excellent. It is the best restaurant in Ilfracombe by far. We also sat outside , at the front of the restaurant a couple of times, just having a glass of wine in the sun.

We visited here on a day trip to ilfracombe. It was late afternoon and just fancied a pot of tea. On seeing the lovely scones at the counter we ordered a cream tea. The scones came warmed with lots of lovely clotted cream and jam. Topped off with a large pot of tea, perfect! So often scones are served cold... More

We visited The Quay on our final night in Ilfracombe. It certainly did not disappoint. The bar area was bright and a lovely place to start the evening. Our waitress was excellent and my husband and I could not fault the food. For the standard of food and service we thought the price was very reasonable. A very enjoyable evening.

This restaurant immediately caught our eye for its minimalist decor and lovely open glazed entrance. The staff were exceptionally well trained, pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. We had not booked but fortunately someone had cancelled and they were then able to get us in. Lovely spacious reception bar downstairs was a great place to meet friends arriving separately -... Only stayed for an aperitif. One drink and gone, late afternoon. Staff very helpful and friendly, helped with taxi, directions etc. Lovely setting alongside the harbour, so great views and able to people watch too. Clean, neat and tidy, but... it is a little pricey, be careful.

Description
The Quay restaurant in Ilfracombe is home to a unique and substantial collection of Damien Hirst's works. The classical fronted building has been beautifully restored and now relates well to the stunning views out to the Atlantic and the traditional harbour of this ancient port. Exmoor Angus beef served at The Quay has been bred within a few miles of the restaurant, and the Lundy crab and lobster is delivered on a daily basis by the fishermen who catch it just a few miles off shore. With a wine list to delight the heart of the average oenophile, and a stellar selection of West County cheeses and home-made desserts on the menu, The Quay is a genuine treat for discerning food and art lovers alike.
