Staff were lovely and friendly, food looked amazing and was well presented but did not taste as good as it looked. The menu advertises home made pate but it was more like a terrine. The macaroni was very tasty and plentiful. The curry of the...day has a flavoursome sauce but the chicken was dry and hard around the edges and the rice was hard and stuck together like it had been over microwaved. It was a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. On the plus side we could not fault the cleanliness of the premises and the procedures for the prevention of the spread of covid-19More

Friendly, centrally located restaurant. Rather restricted menu probably due to Covid Situation compared to previously. Haggis Bon Bon starters were delicious & filling. Curry main course well-presented & tasty. Mushroom pasta likewise. Good value.

The outside of the building belies the friendly and cosy welcome we received inside. Our waitress was friendly and chatty, as was the chap working in the kitchen. He apologised in advance in case he was noisy tidying up at the end of the night...and offered to relocate us to another table! We mentioned in passing we’d had a civil ceremony that day and were given a free, celebratory bottle of wine - a lovely and unexpected touch! The only downside was that we didn’t have time for a return trip.More

We (me, vegetarian wife & 10yo son) ate here during a recent trip to the area. The food was ok, although pricey for what it was, and the real ale was fine; however the service was all a bit random. It's possible that the young...waitress was fairly new to the job (in which case maybe we could cut some slack), but drinks were wrong/forgotten, my son's meal was wrong and we had to ask several times for cutlery after our food was served.More

We had been looking all over Aviemore for proper Pub Grub and eventually managed to book a table at The Tipsy Laird in Kingussie a short drive away ... We weren’t disappointed , huge portions of home cooked hearty Steak Pie and Mac and Cheese...were exactly what we were looking for , we shared a Sticky Toffee pudding as we couldn’t manage a whole dessert each after our main and were glad we did when this huge cake was presented to us with toffee sauce , Ice cream and berries . The other stars of the show here were Madie and Amelia, these young women were very friendly , attentive to all the customers needs and made our dining experience that little bit more special , with Covid there is a lot more table service and these two were certainly working hard to keep guests fed and watered Highly recommend!More

I recently visited the tipsy laird with my boyfriend on the 21/08/2020. We had originally planned to go camping in aviemore for the first day of our four day camping trip. With Aviemore being too crowded, we decided to venture out to kingussie- it was...an essential to have a pub within walking distance of our tent. We camped next to the ruthven bridge and walked to the tipsy laird for a few drinks and some pub grub. my boyfriend had the steak pie (which he thoroughly enjoyed). I had the calamari starter and garlic bread side. The calamari was delicious. we washed our food down with a few flavoured gins, there was such a wide variety to choose from and they were all dangerously tasty!! we were served by the host Lindsay. She was very attentive, always cracking jokes with ourselves and the other customers. A very pleasant soul who is noticeably well liked amongst customers. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and a bill you couldn't argue with. i will be back in the foreseeable future if im ever out that way again. Thankyou :)More

Very friendly staff, generous portions and great food! Very easy and convenient when staying in Kingussie. Do book ahead during these times though. I am gluten free and the staff were great at checking and ensuring the meal was safe. Thank you.

We wanted to try some local ales and this pub had a good selection albeit it was mainly in bottles. Table service worked well with some very friendly staff.
