Had witches sole very tasty , fresh and well prepared. This place is always good is very consistent. Have a large regulatory clientele who go for food that is well prepared . You can pay more but will not get better.

Busy Friday evening, but they kindly squeezed us in. Wonderful informal atmosphere, but exemplary service from friendly staff. We had specials as starter and main; all were very good, brill and wolf fish. Good wine list, bottle of muscadet sur lie a great reminder of the past and not too pricey. I love the mini puds too ( one of... More

Great food and atmosphere; staff very friendly. This is a fish restaurant with only a couple of non-fish dishes. Note that veggies have to be ordered separately (we sometimes forget!) A good selection of wines and several interesting Gins (yum)

Nearly 2 hours for dinner, most of the time spent waiting as staff not as attentive as they need to be to ensure 1st class service. Food was good and well presented.

Given the reviews rating Tanroagan so highly we were expecting something special.. Service was friendly and attentive so no problems there. I had the fish pie which was very tasty. He had lobster thermidor which was ok. Nothing to rave about. Expensive compared with other similar restaurants on the island.

The Tanroagan doesn't look much from the front and it is a small side road but it is well worth a visit. My friends and I ( 12 of us in total) called on a busy Friday night and while we must have caused the 'kitchens' some stress we all had first class food served with the minimum of fuss... More

We were in Douglas for four nights. We had initially tried to get into another nearby fish restaurant but it was full so decided on Tanroagan (Manx for scallops). How glad we were that we found this gem. We got the last table, right by the cooking area. Watching the two young guys in the kitchen was pure theatre. They... More

You'll have to make a reservation if you wish to eat here, really popular, not only with tourists but locals as well. They only use locally sourced ingredients and can cater for food intolerances due to everything being cooked fresh. A little pricey, but on the whole, worthwhile for a great meal.
