William and his Bay Tree team provided outside catering for my wife's Birthday Event. Two platters of canapés for starters included mixed Crostini, mini Caesar Salads and preserved Lemon and Cranberry Panzanella wraps. Our Mains - Moroccan Lamb Tangine with preserved Lemons and Apricots and Paprika Chicken with Chorizo and Red Peppers. Finishing off with a wonderful Lemon and Almond... More

The Bay Tree is our go to cafe in Holywood, mainly due to their amazing cinnamon scones. They genuinely are worth travelling for and will quench anyones sweet tooth appetite. Any other food we have had has always been tasty and served without fuss. Decent coffee and friendly service. No complaints.

Iam from Scotland and travel to Northern Ireland a lot with work, the BayTree is a firm favourite of mine, for breaky lunch and dinner. Sue and her team have been welcoming me in for the past 10 years. The staff are attentive friendly. The menus are always exciting and tasty. The famous scones are epic, and I always take... More

Went in at about midday yesterday with my girlfriend and we had slightly missed breakfast fry up cut off time. We both really fancied a breakfast, but realised it was too late. At the bottom of menu, it said they were flexible so please ask. We asked and they weren't flexible, but it was worth a try. The food was... More

A few years since we last visited here but had coffee and a cinnamon scone on Saturday morning. The coffee was ok but maybe a smaller cup than elsewhere and not sure if the cinnamon accompaniment is best described as a bun or scone. It's certainly a different texture than it used to be and very sweet and I think... More

Hi there, thanks for your review! Our cinnamon scones are often called cinnamon buns by customers. We understand! It's an appearance vs taste dilemma. I suppose it qualifies more as a scone because of the ingredients. The most important thing for us is that our customers enjoy them, which in the vast majority of cases they do. However, I understand... More

The Baytree have rightly had a reputation for excellent cinamon scones. But alas thet can be inconsistent....and sometimes unrecognizable. My last visit mixed the worst of their offerings with a poor coffee. Worse was that when asked how I enjoyed my order, and having been honest in response, there was no action. So from a firm favourite to an avoid.

Food delicious, staff charming but a bit noisy for me! Plenty of other diners. Apparently afternoon tea come highly recommended.

This place is an absolute wee gem. Lured here many years ago by the legend of the cinnamon scone (of which there is no equal others try but fall far short ) this place never ceases to delight. The food is gorgeous, its as simple as that. One word of caution once you start sampling the menu you will be... More

Whilst this restaurant is pleasant, it is not worthy of the hype. The food is very upmarket (...) and there is not a wide range. The wait for the food was long and yes, it was very busy, but this is no excuse. Very overpriced for what we got. However the scones were good!
