We went to tharik's during our visit to paignton while in search for halal food. It was THE worst indian food experience we ever had. We ordered their butter chicken and mixed grill platter (which always is a safe bet for an indian eatery).the order took 45 minutes to arrive and both were zero in terms of flavor.i would score... Just picked up a takeaway and the order was wrong, was told on the phone that we will get a bit of discount when we go back. We wont be going back because what we ordered was not what we got and the food was pretty awful, very salty, quite tasteless for curry and the chapati was a slightly warm wholemeal... More

Chicken Tikka Masala - chicken drowned in a lake of sauce with an overdose of red colouring. Very sweet! Not good. King Prawn Korma - another lake of yellow sauce with plenty of coconut but an off-putting milky taste which masked the flavour of the prawns. Yuk! Chicken Biriyani - very good, tasty, aromatic and with a good, simple vegetable... More

We gave Thariks a try just for a change to our normal takeout and found the food to be of a great quality and nice authentic taste. I agree with other comments that the owners are not that charismatic but when having a take out this is not so important. I would recommend trying a takeout as the menu is... More

We had previously visited the restaurant the previous year whilst on holiday and had no hesitation in returning. Once again the food was lovely and service was excellent. Hope to return at Christmas.

I entered the empty restaurant and was approached by a common waitress. I decided to order a Chicken Tikka Balti with a naan bread and rice. When i opened the curry I saw a really creamy watery sauce with very few small pieces of chicken. The 'Curry' tasted extremely bland and creamy nothing like a balti you get else where.... More

We have been here before and enjoyed it. However we will never go again. My partner ordered chicken tikka masala. What we got looked and tasted like a korma with red colouring. It was far too sweet. I had lamb chilli curry, the lamb was tough as old boots. We had keema naan and u almost broke a tooth from... More

Following a long drive down to Paignton we decided on a takeout for our first evening... Thariks had been recommended to us and we were extremely pleased it was 👍 Beautiful starters, main course and sides at a very reasonable price! This is restaurant is certainly at the top of my lists for an Indian 😀

I went to Thariks last week early evening with my wife and friends. We were the only restaurant customers at first and the young waiter did his best to make us feel welcome. If only the same could have been true of the owner and his wife(presume this was the case in anyway). Total disinterest! The food was ok but... More
