Very cool atmosphere. Good brunch menu, with vegan options too. Takeout cakes are delicious. Very instagramable!

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick breakfast and thoroughly loved it. It's hidden away from the hustle and bustle with a beautiful cosy interior. I was full of cold with a sore throat at the time and ordered the orange, lemon and...More

Several of us in a regular walking group visited here on Christmas eve afternoon, simply because being local we knew there wouldn't be an issue on that day with finding a table for 6 of us. It was warm and cosy in every sense, it...More

We decided to try Flat White for brunch and were delighted. We were surprised that there was no queue when we arrived, as we understand there can often be one. We were immediately found a table upstairs - the layout is OK but not spacious...More

Flat White is tucked away through an arch, down by the River Wear. It’s a little gem of a place. The crockery is hand made by a local potter, the tables are old sewing machines, the chairs an eclectic mix of 2nd hand house clearance...More

At the main entrance there was quite a wait, though go via the back entrance off elvet bridge and we got a seat pretty much straight away. We only came for coffees, which were good. Full of trendier sorts.

Rustic wooden tables, bare brick or rough plasterwork and wooden floors but feels very homely 😀. Food is fantastic, eggs benedict with ham hock or the pancake stack are a must. Great selection of teas, coffee orhot chocolate and their cakes are brilliant. Staff are...More

We waited outside for quite a while as it was Saturday midday (we'd gone for brunch), but it was well worth it.

Came here for breakfast/brunch on a Friday morning. The place was really busy but got a table straight away. The eggs florentine were fantastic, perfectly poached eggs and the hollandaise was beautifully light. My partner had the full stack of pancakes which were also delicious...More

Description
Located on Saddler Street, just seconds away from Durham Cathedral, is Flat White Durham's latest venture: Flat White Kitchen. The five-story 16th century property has been restored back to its original splendour and is a meld of stripped-wood, copper pipes and bare brick alongside opulent French mirrors and fresh flowers. The coffee offering showcases the owners' talents, who opened their first cafe after working alongside some of Australia's greatest roasters. Five years on, the two are still regulars on the coffee machine, passing on their talents to only a select few who make the cut. The food offering from Flat White Kitchen is equally as perfected as the coffee. A strong, kitchen team has been hand selected from the finest northern restaurants to ensure that the menu is as strong as the reputation.
