It's my understanding that I booked this restaurant on the 26th of November with a lady for the 3rd of December. We turned up at the booking time of 19.30 and the gentleman had no note of the booking. I couldn't confirm that I had booked this specific restaurant as I had used a landline to book. However, the gentleman... More

We had an excellent Christmas meal with friends. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The food was excellent. Cooked to perfection and plenty of it.Even the mince pies were home made. The service was first class. A real Traditional Devon Pub. Thank you

I really enjoyed our night at the New Inn. The booking process was very efficient with a phone call confirming our booking. The menu offered a good range of interesting home cooked dishes to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly and welcoming with efficient service offering suitable breaks between courses. All in all a good experience and I can... More

Having chosen to stay at nearby Coombe Farm (check this out too), we were delighted to find that the New Inn a mile away also ticked all our important boxes, in this case 'Great village pub', 'Great food' and 'Great landlord/landlady'. The customers we met (Jim and, I think, a doctor) added to the evening by inviting us to share... More

We thoroughly enjoy eating at The New Inn. A traditional pub serving a great selection of home cooked fayre with a couple of more unusual dishes which makes the menu more interesting than some. Always a warm welcome too. Unpretentious, good value and dependable. Just what a pub should be.

A dated little pub with a very narrow entrance to the car park. I wouldn't change a thing! Like walking into a pub from the 50s! Had one of the best meals ever. An interesting menu which includes rabbit and pheasant. My husband and I shared a baked Camembert with garlic and rosemary for starters it was served with an... More

A very friendly host and hostess. This place is unusual in that there are no menus. The hostess brings over a board and explains each one of the extensive range of meals thoroughly.I had difficulty decciding what to eat. All the dishes are home-cooked and the servings are more than ample. I don't eat out to fill my belly but... More

I have eaten here on many occasions and have never been disappointed. My biggest problem is always choosing what to eat as there is rarely anything on the menu that is not delicious. It could be described as excellent home cooking with a twist of something surprising in some of the dishes. I always feel welcomed and at home here.... More
