Three of us had lunch here on Sunday, as usual the food and service were very good. This beautiful old pub in the village of Coffinswell, Devon is very popular with the locals so you will need to book a table. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely olde world pub in the middle of no where. Had cod mornay which was OK but could have had longer in the microwave. All dishes served with standard veg so no matching to the main part of the dish.

Lovely cosy country food pub. Food was good, although the meat with one meal was cold. This was replaced with extra potatoes and veg. Service very friendly although a little slow considering only a few people were dining. Not as good as previous visits so wouldn't say this was the norm.

A jewel in the countryside, we have been again and again and it's always consistently good. Why are quality eating places like this so rare in a so called holiday area ?

I was arranging a family get together trying to find somewhere local to most of us and remembered this lovely quaint place in an idylic setting. After checking the reviews on TripAdvisor I felt safe to book a table for eight later in the week.We arrived and were shown to a lovely cosy nook .The food was all served at a... We ate in the bar, after reserving a table, the place was very busy but the service was quick, friendly and efficient The roast lunches we had were superb, pink beef with a selection of vegetables that weren't over cooked. Probably one of the best Sunday lunches we've had. Suggest you book and don't be in a rush.

We ate there at lunch and were presented with an enticing menu which would satisfy all tastes. My companion had skate wings which is a meaty fish whose flesh falls off the cartilaginous bones and tasted divine. I chose a large 'fishpot' which was a dish of mixed fish cooked in a creamy sauce with piped potato and a generous... More

If you like good old home cooking in a family-run pub, this is a great choice . Lovely welcoming atmosphere, very friendly service , and great dishes that you will struggle to finish . The proof of quality is that it's always busy , so book in advance. We went as a group of 10 ( family & in-laws )... More

Nice place, very cosy and welcoming. Food is ok maybe a bit pricey for something not much more than traditional pub food. But nice for a drink.
