As a group of girlfriends we meet up for Saturday lunch every couple of months. We have met at the tap for the last couple of times and due to meet again in June. The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly, the food is always freshly prepared and generous portions always arrive! Although it is busy we don't have to... More

We visited here with some friends. 2 were vegetarian and others like to eat veggie fairly often. The pub menu had a good selection with more than average veggie options. The pub was lovely (a proper pub), staff very friendly and attentive and a lovely pub dog! The only slight flaw was some of the veggie food was disappointing. The... More

We went to the Langley Tap for a last minute dinner when our plans fell through. The place was packed which made us confident of a good experience but unfortunately we did feel pressured rather than encouraged to savour the experience. And the food for main course was good but I was a bit disappointed that the only gluten free... More

Dear Sian Thank you for visiting us and taking the time to leave a review. We are disappointed with the 3 stars obviously as you mention we are a very popular, busy pub, especially amongst those who have dietary requirements (Gluten free & Lactose free being the most prominent) because our menu is freshly cooked to order and can be... Attentive friendly staff.. simple unfussy restaurant. Excellent food. The stilton sauce with the steak was subtle and not overpowering. The calves liver was perfectly cooked and served with a gravy that demanded a spoon. Highly recommended.

Easy to find, and the Satnav info is accurate. Old style Pub that offers a reasonable menu. We both choose Liver and Onions. Served with potato mash with mustard mix, and mixed vegetables. Liver can be spoilt by overcooking, however both our meals were very tasty and well presented. The girls who serve table, and work the bar are delightful.... More

A nice location in a small village this country pub/restaurant offers a pleasantly small menu. Nice choice of local dishes and desserts with very friendly staff, an open bar area gives a nice roomy feel. A good choice of traditional beers and ciders, the lovely dog greets you with a clear message on his collar "do not feed me"! Would... More

I've been to this pub many times, first three/four time amazing, but really disappointed that on the last three occasions (across 4months) when taking guests we've been in the main, underwhelmed.... we were so embarrassed last time, frankly being ignored, having to ask three times for simple things, then being given no explanation why we'd been forgotten, initially we defended... The Langley Tap is a lovely friendly village pub. The staff are always very friendly and accomadation get but I have to say that having eaten here many times all of our meal yesterday was very disappointing. The vegetables looked old and badly cooked, my sons chips were floppy. My meat on my husbands lamb shank did not fall off... More

Hi Sarahbritain thanks for taking time out and letting us know about your latest visit. It is obviously disappointing for us that as you mentioned you have had great experiences here previously (such a shame you haven't reviewed us before!) Nothing has changed Chef Matt was in the kitchen that day, all veg is prepared fresh every day as our... More
