Such a lovely atmosphere here, popped in for a light lunch occasionally which is good value for money. The pancakes were delicious!! I would throughly recommend !! A good place to visit when wondering around Christchurch, possibly on market day?

Went here because we could find nowhere else open and had a lovely full english breakfast in a lovely environment. Staff were friendly and the food was good it is just very small and a bit cramped.

This restaurant is unusual in its rustic furniture and decor. That said it is warm and friendly and the food is excellent. Certainly worth a visit

It was such a chilly day and we fancied a hot drink. This atmospheric family friendly café was perfect. Hot chocolate was followed by mushroom soup with cheese on toast and the portions were very generous and the prices very reasonable.

Friendly greeting and great decor. The lady was really helpful and a young guy took over waiting our table. We ordered a milk shake and Coke. After a little wait they arrived we ordered bacon and sausage sarnies and a bowl of fries. After a wait the sarnies arrived but no chips. It wasn't like it was busy 2 tables... More

There seems to be something about the cafes in this town that makes them sit on their laurels in the winter months. Obviously the bulk of their profits come from the visitors in the summer so the foot comes of the accelerator between November and March. The customer service here is not good. Shame 'cos the theme of the cafe... More

It's been a while, so I thought I would see if things have improved over a couple of visits. Unfortunately not. Fish and Chips: the fish is very dry, overdone and chewy. Eggs on toast: sometimes you get one slice of toast and sometimes two, the scrambled eggs used to be delicious, but they are often overdone. It's £5 for... More

I came into your restaurant on said date, and I sat down with my girlfriend and her family getting ready to celebrate out engagement. We definitely didn't get off to a good start or choose the best place to eat. We sat down waiting to order when we saw one of the chefs throwing food out of the fridge/freezer, and... More

I have marked average as it wasn't 'very good' which is the next option but the staff were really lovely. They were training a new chef so everything took a long time and the home made tortillas were a bit overdone so not really worth the wait although the dips were yummy. Maybe I caught them on a bad day.

Very at ease. We ordered pot of tea for two which was ample for two cups each. Service was very good. We had a special from the menu fresh fish. I will definitely be taking friends and family again as children are welcome. This was the first time visiting cheese and Alfies
