One of the worst meals I have had in a long while. First the positives great view. That is all the positives. Restaurant itself is little more than an art gallery cafe. Lacked atmosphere. Menu very limited. Dishes expensive £25 for a main. Portions small....Worse still food badly cooked. We had halibut and potatoe fondant. Fish overcooked and potatoes under cooked. Service poor, things simply got missed off our order, then arrived as we finished our meal. Staff seem to lack basic restaurant training.More

I've been to Six before when it was on the top floor of the Baltic. You almost end up paying for the views as well, and rightly so because they're fantastic. I wanted to take my boyfriend because he'd never been before, so got him...a voucher at Christmas. We booked for last week and nowhere on the website did it say that the restaurant had moved downstairs. We turned up assuming we had to take the lift up, but no. I'm gutted because I probably would've saved our voucher for when the top floor opened again, had I had known. People want to come not just for the food but for the views as well and I feel as though it should've been made clear on the website, but I didn't see it anywhere.More

I had a lovely meal.. sat waiting for my friend and the waitress was wonderful, made me feel comfortable and only wish I got her name as service was fantastic! What let it down was the rude man who when I asked where the toilet...was actually turned around .. pointed his finger at me and told me to shhhhh... I understand he was about to check someone in but they hadn’t got up the stairs at this point! ... actually gobsmacked! (That’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars) Anycase credit to the wonderful waitresses and the fact that the extension on vouchers due to the pandemic was amazing!More

Not sure where to start with this. We have enjoyed meals, drinks and coffee stops at the Baltic since before the pandemic started. Its really lovely having a glass of wine on the terrace with a view of the bridge. We eagerly awaited their reopening...on May 17th and its been a total disappointment. We have turned up a couple of times now after checking the opening hours on the website to find they were closed. Annoying when you've just paid for parking! We turned up tonight to again to have a drink on the terrace at 5.50pm to be told they were " closed " until 6pm. The manager then tried to get us to sit on a table at the very edge of the terrace and didn't want us to take a table with the premium view! After being ignored for 15 mins even though the restaurant was empty I had to go and ask. One waitress standing behind the bar had her arms folded while the other was wandering around with a dustpan and brush in her hand in an empty already immaculate restaurant. Clearly more of a priority than serving customers. We ordered drinks and asked the waitress if the place closes as the manager had stated after lunch service until 6pm as the website clearly states they are open for alfresco drinks and snacks until 9pm! . The manager then came out and subjected us to the rudest defensive conversation we have ever had. He basically said that we were lucky to get served at all as they were very busy and short staffed. and that guests with dinner reservations take priority. The restaurant was completely empty at that point! I pointed out that the website states that drinks are available until 9pm on the terrace and he said that if we should make an online booking even for a couple of drinks if we wanted to be sure of getting served otherwise its just pot luck! He admitted that he lied about the restaurant being closed until 6pm and it was crystal clear he considered us a nuisance getting in the way of his high paying dinner guests. He said " do you want these drinks or not". We then received zero service again and had to go in and search for a waitress to request a second drink.. They had clearly been told not to serve us in the hope we'd leave quickly. My suggestion to the Baltic is if you don't want people turning up for drinks and to enjoy the view then change your website to say a reservation for dinner is needed after 6pm and the terrace is not open! This extremely rude individual made it crystal clear we weren't welcome and couldn't wait for us to leave. I assume it would be a completely different attitude when we are spending more money even though we spent £25 on a couple of drinks. We also noticed 2 younger men who were casually dressed being turned away!More

Google describes this as fine dining with wonderful roof top views. How disappointed were we to arrive and find we were sitting facing the cloakroom on the ground floor terrace. No warning that the venue had changed when we booked. Not to worry about the...view, the windows were so dirty you could barely see out. I did complain and the surley manager reminded us we did not have to eat there. I never thought we were captive. No offer to seat us elsewhere but she did offer to move my partner next to me so she wasn't facing the coat hangers. We persevered and to be honest the food was okay, but not fine dining. And wow it's fast. I've had slower service at Macdonalds. Took order at 8pm and at 9.05 we had our three course and paid the bill. We will not be back.More

My husband collected afternoon tea for us from Six for Mother’s Day and it was delicious. Everything was fresh and packed well in individual containers. Lots of variety - 4 different sandwiches, 1 savoury scone, 1 plain scone with cream and jam, chocolate and raspberry...trifle , 3 little cakes each and 4 tea bags. We had my husband’s 60th birthday at Six too and everything ( food, service and staff) was spot onMore

We’ve just enjoyed a superb Valentine’s Day dinner from Six at Home. It arrived beautifully packaged in environmentally friendly containers with clear instructions for cooking. It was extremely straightforward to heat up and the end result was a high quality restaurant meal on our own...kitchen table. Looking forward to our next one.More

We dined here (back when that sort of crazy behaviour was permitted) for the first time in December 2019 for my wife’s birthday and were blown away by the quality of food. In a bid to recreate that special experience during a lockdown birthday I...surprised my wife with the Dine At Home option in December 2020. We couldn’t fault a single thing from the entire experience. Booking was simple, menu choices were just to our taste, the perfectly packaged food was courteously placed in the boot of our car during pick up and came with simple instructions on how to finish each course. The quality and the taste was sublime- we had 3 courses with blade of beef for main. The cherry on top so to speak was the complimentary selection of puddings and happy birthday note provided to recognise my wife’s birthday. I almost forgot to mention the 2D barcode on the menu / instructions which took you to a Six select playlist on Spotify, a lovely touch which set the ambiance just nicely. A great experience that felt like a real treat, would recommend and we will be back! Many thanks to those at Six.More

We've had several special meals from Six at Home since it started and the afternoon tea at home. Every time the food was delicious and easy to prepare. Proper restaurant quality food, thoughtfully prepared to leave the minimum of work at home. We can't wait...to eat in there again, especially in the new space downstairs which is really airy, has a great atmosphere and felt very covid secure with lots of space between the tables and all staff and other diners taking great care to follow the rules but until then, we'll be making the most of the Six at Home option.More

We had 2 six at home kits in December 2020 including Christmas dinner and it was truly delicious. We had a 3 course meal on a Saturday which was really lovely and the instructions were clear and preparation was well thought out and easy to...follow. There was plenty to eat and was definitely on par to the excellent meals we have had at six previously. It was easy to collect the meal and all covid safe although don’t drive through the bus lane as I did and got a £60 fine! The 5 course course dinner at Christmas really made our day. Our original plan had been to visit a local restaurant and I really didn’t want to cook the dinner from scratch after covid closed that option for us so this was perfect. Everything was superb but our favourite was the chicken parfait. It was plentiful and gorgeous. The main course was lovely, the beef, perfection and just the right amount of Christmas pudding. I have told everyone who will listen about how great they have been, a little bit of sparkle during these dark times.More

I would consider smart shorts inappropriate. A smart casual dress code should be interpreted as chinos or similar and shirt or smart polo shirt. Dressing inappropriately is disrespectful to other diners and the staff... More
