We were so impressed with our visit for morning coffee that we booked a late lunch in place of dinner as the premises were not open that evening. The pasta with cray fish was outstanding, absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. All the staff we met...were very welcoming and Covid precautions all taken very seriously yet with a lightness of touch, which was reassuring. A word of praise for Lucas is merited: not only was he very courteous and helpful to us, we saw him deal brilliantly with elderly customers with whom he is obviously deservedly popular! Enormous Canadian charm.More

Good restaurants are hard to come by in this area but luckily we found one! The soup was lovely to start And as other reviews have mentioned, the Buddha bowel with lamb was brilliant! Very different to what I’d usually order but highly recommend it....Cake for desert was also great Staff friendly and accommodatingMore

What a lovely place. Yeah… but why? Well, let me be clear: I’m not a vegan and I initially thought this was a happy-clappy alter to the god of lettuce-and-chickpeas. Not a bit of it! I was rather tired, by now, of the albeit decent...pub-grub available in most local alternatives and while I initially had misgivings, the fact that this was Tripadvisor’s no.1 in Grantown surely stood for something. So that was decided then; in I went. If you’re a vegan, have the Buddha bowl. If your not, have the Buddha bowl with harissa lamb on top. So refreshing, so different, a great portion of flavour and texture, served up with charm and good humour. This was the best meal of my week-long trip in Aberdeenshire and Morray but far. The local beer is very reasonable and the lovely waitress offered me a taste of each without me asking. The IPA was better then the blonde alternative but either are worth drinking. Finally, the single loo was spotlessly clean. Not perhaps the most-mentioned observation but important to me, so I will. Highly recommended: a lovely experience overall.More

Popped in for lunch after a wee walk. We had butternut squash risotto and venison sausages with puy lentils both tasty. Then onward to coffee with banana loaf and blackcurrant Victoria sponge. The cakes were amazing. Nice friendly service.

Second time we ate here today - first time just over a week ago. Love it. The sticky bangers were awesome and the Victoria Sponge was without doubt the best we’ve ever eaten. Service is great. Feel of the place is lovely - just feels...welcoming and homely. So so recommended.More

Fantastic! Bread, oil and Dukkah to start followed by Buddah Bowls, one lamb & one crab. The chef suggested having the bread alongside the main rather than as a starter. What a good suggestion - they were sensational and truly the best salads we have...ever eaten. Every mouthful broiught a different taste and sensation. Absolutely stunning. The setting is so relaxed and the staff so friendly and welcoming. The whole experience was perfect and we will definitley be back. Thank you all.More

Our last evening before returning home after a week in this beautiful part of the country. This is the fourth meal eaten out and for two out of the four adults was by far the best. The other two were on the fence and decided...it was a draw to first position with another restaurant in another town. The menu I felt was minimal but considering there were big meat eaters, a vegetarian and a child, there was enough choice for us all. The meals were lovely. Two burgers, one halloumi burger and the hot dog, along with the child’s pizza. All really lovely and tasty. We couldn’t fault our meals but even better.... I think anyone would be hard pressed to find friendlier staff. My three year old grandson would normally shy away from speaking to staff but the lovely lady made a point of making us all so welcome on arrival that he put his own order in directly to her. Thank you for making us feel welcome, for the lovely food and the delightful setting. We will be back when next in the areaMore
