Our favourite local chippy whether eat in or take away. Great for veggies, love the macaroni, miss the macaroni patties they used to make.

Small cafe and takeaway serving the best local fish and chips. In my opinion the best in town. The fish is very fresh, good chips and portion size is very good. I usually order a small fish supper which is a full tray of chips and 1 fillet of fish. A large supper consists of 2 fillets of fish, you... More

The Fort Chippy has had a revamp, with a lovely new design in the cafe window, with the walls lined with wet wall material. It's like moving your tables and chairs into the bathroom and having your dinner in there - easy maintenance, yet hideous design idea. The best food is served in the cafe, cooked in the back mostly... More

Quick service eat in or takeaway. Nice fresh fish. Perfect chips. Good kids options. Avoid the 5 o'clock rush.

A colleague and I came here for diner while working in the area. The restaurant was so wee and cosy and reminded me of an old school chipper. The lass serving us gave us cans instead of bottles of irn bru like we asked and once we had paid and left we also realised that she didn't even charge us... More

Best fish and chip shop I've visited. Expensive but worth it for the taste of the food. The downside to this place is its staff. Most of them and two in particular (a slim blonde middle aged lady and a large dark haired older lady) is very rude and has no manners what so ever. Great food. Shame about the... More

Nothing fancy with the decor, it is a chip shop cafe after all. The food speaks for itself, fresh and deep fried

After spending the day hiking, we were starving when we smelled fish and chips and walked into Fort Cafe. The display case was almost empty, as it was late lunch time, so we ordered from the board, 1 large fish and chips. Service was quick and friendly, and OMG, the order was huge! It was plenty for us to share.... More
