we live locally and decided to try out the refurbished Mayflower. We were not disappointed. The set menu is comprehensive and good value for money. The staff are friendly and the food excellent. Well worth a visit.

We had lunch at this lovely pub on spec and it was delightful. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, there was a fire burning which, as it was a cold day, was most welcome. I stuck to the set lunch menu which was very reasonably priced and had interesting dishes. My husband went a la carte:... More

We stopped for lunch on a very wet weekend at the Mayflower. In our group of friends, is a vegetarian, a meat eater and a vegan and gluten intolerant. The menu was great and more the that the staff including the delightful waitress Rosa could not have been more helpful. Rosa requested that Ed the chef prepare something off the... More

My Mum & I called in for lunch last weekend without a reservation. We were welcomed & seated straight-away with some cushions quickly found to bring Mum's eye-line up to mine. Mum went for the veggie option whilst I had fish and chips. Both very good. Following deserts looked and tasted much better than usual pub fare. Overall, a very... More

Went with group of about 30 oldies for lunch. Set menu had only three main choices, cottage pie or two pasta dishes (one vegetarian). Couldn't order a particular starter from set menu and main from a la carte - we can't do that they said! It's a restaurant for God's sake. So had mushroom soup (delicious) which happened to be... Always busy, great choice of food, friendly staff. We have visited many many times and are never disoppointed. Good place to meet friends and sit around outside when the weather permits and surprisingly cosy for the rest of the time.

Thank you so much to everyone at the Mayflower for a lovely lunch today. We arrived at 12 noon with our big Mastiff day Zara. We received a very friendly welcome and a lots of stokes for Zara too. While we were choosing our food our fab server brought Zara a fresh bowl of water and more pats and stokes.... More

This was a family meal for 10 and with the variety of dishes chosen there didn't seem to be a duff one amongst them. All were delicious and decent if not bordering on the 'too large' size.
