Exceptionally good food and lots of local foods used --- beef, lamb, asparagus to name a few. Also reasonable prices with lots of wines below £20 per bottle. Everything from classy burgers (to suit the teenagers) to perfectly cooked lamb, pork belly and whole lemon sole. Lots to choose from. Highlight was pink lamb cutlets with slow-cooked shoulder.

Having read some of the previous reviews I felt I had to write one . My friends and I dine regularly around the county and this is one of the finest if not the best restaurant you will find. Last time was two days ago. We were 8 people including 2 hotel owners we all ordered differently and were served... More

We had a meal here after a recconmedation. Well it was OK but my choice of vegatarian food was a bit of a dissapointment. The reason I did not really like any of the options so I suppose that's my fault. Any way the meals overall were adequate. I know it won't be for everyone as I know some people... More

As I have said repeatedly we are not for everyone........ that is why there is so much choice in the area - there's enough for everyone to choose from. We are not expensive for the quality of food we serve. What does really irritate me is people putting their own twist about us apparently not wanting to make money. Of... More

A cosy, traditional country pub with log fires and beamed ceilings set in beautiful countryside. The menu is large and varied, for meat-eaters at least - if I have a gripe, it is that they really could offer more than one vegetarian dish and a veggie soup. The food is delicious, though, of very high quality, (the puddings are scrumptious)... More

Delicious food in a lovely cosy corner of the county, no hurry and a good selection on the menu, was a little scared by the bar signs warning off families or those who might stay longer than wanted. One improvement would be for coffee training, no latte on the menu but cappuccino is, sadly it's just a coffee made with warm... More

Thank you for your review and I'm sorry you found our bar sign scary. If you read it correctly we certainly do not warn off families but welcome them, and we do just ask people to respect our opening/closing times. We do serve all types of coffee including Latte, Macchiato & Espresso but I am not sure what happened to... More

Visited with my partner for dinner on a Saturday night. The food was incredible. A menu full of deliciousness and a specials board on top. The Ginger Sticky Toffee Pudding was probably the best thing I had across the whole of our weekend away. The team are so welcoming and the place has been decorated beautifully. Heartily recommend.

We've eaten in this wonderfully quaint, ancient, tastefully refurbished country gastro-pub many many times since the current owners took over. With its stone walls, ancient beams, lovely rustic decor and warming woodburner it's impossible not to feel relaxed and cosy from the moment one arrives. Svenia is glamorous and efficient in her role as Front of House, her husband, Paul,... More

Our third visit to a local Hoarwithy pub over Christmas week and what a find. Revisiting some old and new places from my youth, am close to pension age now so it's been a while. Wish we had made this our second on the list as we would have visited twice. Great choice of food on main menu but specials... More
