Visited a few times and had a drink but the menu never appears to change and is not as well priced as elsewhere

Disappointed with the whole visit, we waited 10 minutes at the bar to be served as there was nobody behind the bar. We ordered 4 main courses which took 65 minutes to be served to us. The hunters chicken was tough, the chicken curry was also tough and the beef stroganoff was also quite tough. Liver and onions was the... More

Arrived at the pub, and had to wait an age before anybody came to the bar to take are drinks order. Once we ordered the food it took over 50 mins for the meals to come out, and when they did, 2 of the orders were wrong, the 4th meal arrived 5 mins after everyone else order. The chicken and... Just a quick 15 min walk from Woodovis. Good range of beer and cider. Good menu using local produce. Simple, pub grub at good price. Game pie was delicious, as was the steak. Proper chips too.

We had dinner here over Easter. The staff were very friendly however we waited around an hour for our food, then 30 minutes for our dessert orders to be taken. The steak sauces I don't know what they are, I ordered JD sticky sauce and got what was warm oily cream in a pot. This was then replaced by what... More

We went to the Copper Penny twice during our short Easter break, staying at the local caravan park. It is a real country pub with very friendly staff. My husband and I went the first night and I had the liver and onions and he had the burger. Both were delicious. The second visit was with my son, daughter in... More

We waited for nearly 45mins for 5 main courses which was a mix of steaks and lasagna and one child's pizza, the house was nearly empty around 1930, one steak was cremated and small and the chips were limp and lifeless, both lasagna's were awful over cooked and dry, also too much cheese on top which was only a cheap... 5 of us went here today for Sunday lunch for my husband's birthday after a lovely walk on the moors. When the roast beef dinner arrived it was disappointing to say the least. I had 3 small potato halves, a single broccoli and cauliflower floret, two small carrot sticks and a small amount of meat..........and some grains of rice!!!! My... More

Visited here some years back with my late father and the place was buzzing and the food excellent - I seem to remember we had to book. Took my daughter whilst staying in the area this weekend on the off chance. Sadly shocked by the decline. Certainly no need to book now - place was almost empty - and by... More
