On a wonderfully warm Autumn day turned up for lunch & sat on the upper deck outside - one of our party needed a sun hat! Access to tables was for disabled me hindered by overgrown bushes encroaching onto the path. We chose mains of lasagne and two curries & a large double gammon steak with skinnies plus beverages. The... More

My boyfriend and I were warmly greeted by the landlord after an hour-long walk to the pub. He chatted to us about where we'd come from, (Saxmundham, Suffolk), and made us feel very welcome. The food was incredible. I can vouch for the gammon, egg and chips and the WARM chocolate brownie! The portions were large too! This is definitely... More

I came to the Royal Inn with my Dad and had a lovely time. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. I am a coeliac and usually, even in chain restaurants I have trouble with eating requirements but here I was treated so well and could have battered fish and chips and it was delicious. It was a great place,... More

We had a week's holiday in a cottage about a mile from Horsebridge in August 2016 and went here on our first night and enjoyed it so much that we went back on two further evenings. Booking essential. Good selection of specials - good sized portions and reasonably priced. Friendly landlord who takes the trouble to chat with diners at... More

Great pub in a great location on the border between Devon and Cornwall. The food is great quality and imaginitive. Try to eat in the bar if you can as it is is a far more interesting room. Great landlord

My partner and I have enjoyed lots of delicious meals at this wonderful pub whilst staying at the nearby Beera farm. This summer we decided to treat my partner's son and granddaughter to the Royal Inn experience! It was a pleasure to watch the youngest member of the party tucking into the food with relish. In fact, she declared that... More

A great historic pub perfectly located next to the river Tamar. A good choice of beer which is served direct from the barrel. An excellent choice of pub food served with a smile. Just sit there, relax, and take in the atmosphere of a pub that is part of our country's history. Imagine customers over the ages mulling over the... More

On a recommendation from a work mate I took my family for Sunday lunch to this wonderful old inn. Food was great, ambience was even better. The landlord was very friendly and welcoming if a little quirky, that's not a criticism btw. We put his strangeness down to him having snuck across the Tamar from Cornwall! We will definitely visit... More

Good food, nice owner! Love to come back! Good price, and loved the Eton Mess as desert. Nice to sit outside as well.

A first rate country pub overlooking the higher reaches of the river Tamar. Good quality fresh local food at tables inside and out. Well thought of locally. Well worth an entry.
