My wife and I had an excellent meal at Taylors last night. As usual, the staff were very friendly and attentive and food excellent. Our favourite place in Tavistock by a long way.

A first visit to the City with, superficially, little to offer beyond fast food so, after a perfectly acceptable local Indian we noticed Taylors just off the main 'drag'. It looked inviting so booked for dinner the following evening. Next day we were greeted as if old friends and seated downstairs next the open plan kitchen which, in itself was... More

For our anniversary this year we thought we would dine out at Taylors in Tavistock. We were lucky to get a table after doing a bit of shopping. We liked the feel of the restaurant and being able to see meals being prepared and cooked was an added bonus. Service was first class, the food amazing and beautifully presented. I... More

My wife and I have just returned from a four night stay in Tavistock. For our last night (yesterday) we decided to go along with the suggestion of Brad and Gill Walker, who own the fabulous Tavistock House Hotel, and make a booking at Taylors. We were not disappointed. It was a nice, relaxed environment, and the food was excellent.... More

Had dinner here tonight based on other people's recommendations and was not disappointed. Had bread and oil to share for starters and then fish pie and my husband had a gourmet hamburger. Both dishes were very tasty and served extremely hot. Can recommend the food and service.

Occasionally the food is just not that great. Tonight I ordered the seafood risotto and it was unremittingly bland and under seasoned and this comment is from someone who rarely uses salt in my cooking. It was creamy but the aborio rice had lost it's integrity and become very starchy and other than the presence of some white fish of... More

Visited twice over the last few weeks and was so pleased to see the place back on form. Warm welcome on arrival, attentive service and the food delightful. Not a great fan of the salted caramel panna cotta though, lemon meringue pie every time!

Everything clearly laid out on the menu. No sneaky extras! Food superb, Service Superb. Recommended to us by some locals. Visited one other Tavistock pub/restaurant during our stay and Taylors and Wetherspoons blew them out of the water.
